We had our last warm day here yesterday with 26°C - about to crash down to -3°C on Monday morning :disco: :zombie:

It's acceptable to turn your heating back on in mid October, isn't it?

I'm going to be a typical autumn basic bitch today and make pumpkin soup.

Yes. We're resisting, but seriously thinking about a timed hour each morning.
I was thinking in the morning as well. I've grown to actually quite enjoying putting an extra layer on and sitting under a blanket in the evening, but the getting out of bed when it's cold is another matter.

Current obsession: Morten Harket

And not for the first time.

Heating? In October? Ridiculous. December turn on and even then it’s only if absolutely necessary. You lot must have MONEY TO BURN.

I think Morten and Frida would have made exceptionally beautiful children.

I'm still all about Mags and his UNDENIABLE BDE these days, though.

It was 5c this morning (and only going to get up to 11c today) so I have it on.

You’re welcome.

I'm sure I've referred to it before, but I have very fond memories of a poster in Smash Hits from back in the day where he was in speedos at the edge of a swimming pool. I was too young to know what it did for me, but I'm fairly sure it set something into motion.

And a quick image search makes me fairly sure it was this one

It is indeed bloody cold but I've popped on a hoodie and I'm toasty.

I had the heating on for a couple of hours a few times in the last month, mainly to dry washing but also to warm up the bathroom for a bath or shower. My gas bill for the month was only £12.42 and I have gas hobs too.

Just booked my flu jab for the week after next. I assume they aren't doing them on just age yet, as I said to say I was frontline to be entitled to it. Perhaps I'll get the COVID one at the same time.

Its fucking cold, went out biking earlier and got caught in a hailstorm. Had to drink a load of guinness in the pub while it passed.

As much as I lament winter, and all you ‘cardigan season’ people can still get fucked, I’m quite enjoying today. A refreshing ride out, a good feed and settling down with gin to watch a lively lineup on Jools Holland. Its darl out but life isnt awful.

I must admit, it feels actually cold in this flat…

But I have got the balcony doors open still.

I've still got the windows open, it's about 16 degrees in our flat this morning but as it's sunny and our windows are south facing I'm expecting it to warm up soon.

Plus we still don't have proper heating.

I woke up on the sofa and it was fucking freezing. Not the tropical paradise in the south some might suggest.

I've come back to bed with a fleece blanket over my head.

Urgh that reminds me, I sleep better with a blanket covering my ear so always pull the duvet up. Dannii has the habit of getting into our bed and constantly pulling it down

10/10 would recommend my fleece neck gaiter from Uniqlo. Wear it and pull it up over your ears, and it doesn't affect your bedfellows.
