I once dated someone who constantly used a full stop at the end of every sentence

He pretty much spent all his money on coke though, and he owned (and sold) snakes, so there were plenty of other red flags :eyes:

How many snakes??

He was setting up his own exotic pet shop at the time, but he only had one in his bedroom when I knew him, but I think he had lots of them before

A dog or cat in the bedroom during sex is off-putting enough, let alone a snake

You’ll not get very far if you insist on calling men DEAR

Uncle Zu HAS previously raised this matter with you

:enya:
I thought it was you that didn’t like the term and preferred to be called FUCKING AWFUL or something?

I've never used Grindr and already hate it from reading the thread :D

UwU is best greeting.

How is?

What's up?

MY DICK LOL

Anyway... Thursday?

it’s true that I can’t stand it - it’s all very SO BONA TO VADA YOUR LOVELY RIAH DEAR, this isn’t 1965 and we’re not Hinge and Bracket - but I think others might find it similarly off-putting, especially in a trying to get leg over context

I’ve never thought about it but having checked WhatsApp I never use a full stop, but obviously I’m VERY LIBERAL with EXCLAMATION POINTS and KISSES.

I notice that I only ever use a full stop on WhatsApp if I want to give emphasis to what I’m saying, such as “Don’t hand in your notice, you fucking idiot.” My main features are italics (basically a less noisy caps lock), XXX and of course winky tongue emoji

In defence of lol:

I use lol all the time in text messages because I find the reaching for alternatives a bit fake. Just have a fucking laugh out loud m8

I always used to know when a now mercifully former companion was in a mood or had a strop on because he’d suddenly start using full stops in texts. It was like a hidden message

I can't believe people put this much thought into full stops :o

I don’t think their inclusion or exclusion is even a conscious choice. Sometimes I look back on my texts or posts on here (most of which don’t end in a full stop by default, of course) and think: Ah! THAT’S what I was feeling!

I don't know why full stop seems angry in short messages but it does!

I end with ^^ and other forms of emoticon.

I would go back and look at my posts aimed at the tiny minority of moopers I don't like to see if there's a subconscious difference, but I just don't have the time!

well this doesn't sound like an @SDF dating story at all.

except in all the ways that it does. :disco:
