Is Put Yourself in My Place her best song?

I must admit, it’s my favourite track by her - such a great chorus, and I think she gives one of her best vocal performances…but it’s not exactly representative of her career. Better The Devil You Know is a very, very close second for me, and that’s a much more obvious Kylie song.
 
Why does space Kylie not simply press the big MORE GRAVITY button before she gets undressed?
 
Sonically it solars the same orbit as Rain for me if we're comparing her to Madge, but Kyle's vocal has so much expression and vitality. I absolutely adore it. Not sure it's quite on my Kylie podium, but it could just sneak on there behind What Do I Have To Do and Better the Devil You Know. Maybe.
 
Obviously tremendous, and my favourite ‘ballad’ by her, but more in my top twenty than number one.
 
It was my favorite of hers for years maybe top 5 now. The chorus and outro are undeniable. This is the kind of thing that would have been huge on US radio too, shame they didn’t attempt her revival here till Head.
 
All that being said I do think she should have explored more power ballads during that period in the 90s when her voice was super elastic. Dangerous Game is ok but she needed to work with some of the big hitters really.

If nothing else, I'd liked her to have bagged Such A Good Feeling off those Brothers In Rhythm brothers.

It still feels like a really unique ballad (and unexpected showcase), but even the songwriter Jimmy Harry didn't make anything else quite like it having looked them up for surely they'd have another (Amber, Ophélie Winter, Vitamin C and RuPaul being the closest in time and place before that era of pop and dance was firmly closed).
 
Unfortunately she didn't have the cachet for it at the time but for instance a Diane Warren power ballad at that point would have gone down quite nicely.
 
Also Somebody To Love, Slo Motion even Loving Days are all top tier for me
 
If they’d taken this kind of production approach to the absolute dropped catch that is White Diamond, that would be a thing.
 
God I’m so glad Kylie never went down the Diane Warren route… especially in the immediate post-SAW era. Wouldn’t have suited her at all.
