MORNING!

I got up at 6, my ankle is hurting so I can't run at the moment, so decided to take advantage of them NEW LOCKDOWN RULEZ and went for a swim in the sea. And it has energised me and made me feel FUCKING FANTASTIC for the first time in a LONG TIME. HOORAY! And would you look at that happy face...

They’re getting few and far between in my world, and I’ve seen a few people saying they were fans of Boris but arent now.

There is also this, I likened it Ron Jr, sometimes standing in front of something he's done, a mistake he's made, he'll deny it. Not because he's being dishonest, its just a pride thing.
 
The pro-Boris voices do seem to be dwindling. It’s almost as if they voted for him based on a single policy and are now understanding what a stupid idea that was.
 
Had a takeaway coffee from Pret this morning. Almost wept with excitement choosing from the menu.
 
I just got a text from HSBC saying they are reducing my overdraft limit by 23:45 tonight - this is the first I’ve heard of it - can they do that??

That was my first thought. I'd have thought your bank are allowed to reduce your overdraft limit if they want to, but imagine they would give you a decent period of notice.
 
Thanks guys - well I rang the bank and they can’t find any note of my overdraft changing or any letters sent out

its just a strange message to receive because it’s from a number that has sent me previous messages in the past from HSBC, so seems legit?

Scammers can "spoof" numbers now so the text appears to come from the usual bank number but it isn't really. I got a message that appeared to be from my Tesco credit card, which has a zero balance, so I rang them on the customer service number that I know is them and they said this is what the scammers do now.

Are you sure the other texts were from HSBC? If they’ve ever asked you for help with getting money out of Nigeria, then they’re definitely real.
 
So since mid-March, it's just been me and my boyfriend staying in our flat, and our third housemate has been isolating at her parents house in Luton. She has a few days off work this week (she's been working from home fwiw), so has decided to drive to the flat to 'relax' during this time. We have been splitting the rent three ways as usual during this time so I don't know how we could shoot that idea down really. But we received a message from her just after 10pm last night, on her way over but with some guy from a totally different household, because evidently the real reason she wanted to get away from her parents house was so that she could have a bang. She said they will stay in her room, but that doesn't exactly work or help matters when they're both going to need to use our shared bathroom and kitchen at various points - I've just heard him in the shower whilst I've been typing. I've not been the biggest lockdown warrior during all of this but honestly fuming, who would think that's okay to spring upon us without consulting.

Every post is about BRITAIN-HATING LEFTIES and any mention of the Tories perhaps not doing a super duper job results in a tirade about how Labour is full of Jew-hating literal communists. He never used to be like this. Maybe it's dementia from syphilis, he always was a slut as well :(

Anyone know about this stuff and got any ADVICE? (I feel like I'm on Mumsnet now)

I paid £250 deposit for hiring a room in a pub for my birthday party which was supposed to be on 4th April. On 21st March after lockdown was announced I emailed them to ask for it back since it would sadly have to be cancelled. On 23rd March I got a reply saying "We are just waiting for an update on how best to process refunds now that our sites are shut but I will be in touch as soon as possible to get this organised for you." I have had nothing further since.

Emailed them three times (two different addresses and once via webform on their site) to ask for an update and nothing. They are part of a big pubco where there must be SOME people still working but the pubco itself has no useful contact details on their website.

Would I be out of order to apply for a chargeback from my credit card? They have a specific form for "refunds not received".
 
Just chargeback the card, they’re likely ignoring your emails, there will be a general manager still working and keeping on top of admin, and they will drag out the refund for as long as possible as they’re no doubt having severe cash flow issues.

well after four phone calls and HOURS I can confirm that it was a real message! Apparently they reviewed my account and decided to turn the overdraft to 0! Now with a bit of forewarning this would have been FAIR ENOUGH as the overdraft isn’t really your money, but I could not believe they would do it with no forewarning in the form of a letter, call etc. It ended with them saying that now today the system updated again and the overdraft stays in place until the next review in August :confused:
 
Well that was the weirdest funeral I've ever been to. The neighbours all came out in my mum's cul-de-sac to see him off which was really nice and I know my mum appreciated it. The hearse then arrived and reversed up the street, the funeral woman got out and walked over to me thinking I was my mum (pretty sure I don't look like I'm 70!), they hung about for a few minutes and then we drove all the way to the crematorium at 20mph which wouldn't normally be surprising but it was 8 miles away on A roads, I thought they might have sped up a bit once we were on the main road but they didn't. At one point we were doing 15mph on a dual-carriageway with a 50mph limit and had a convoy about half a mile long behind us. Everybody just sat behind us instead of overtaking in the other lane, it was weird. I had mum in the car with me and we were directly behind the hearse and she kept saying "enjoy your last ride George".

It was nice, very quick (half an hour) and then me and Mr F, the spawn and my brother and his family all went back to mum's and Skyped with my sister in Dorset.
