James Van Der Beek DEAD

So very sad. He really seemed like a good guy and (as far as I know) wasn’t problematic in the least.
 
Very sad. I saw footage of him sending a message to the cast when they did that Dawson’s Creek episode read thing where Lin Manuel Miranda stood in for him. He looked so frail :(
 
I loved Dawson's Creek at the time, but it grew very tired, very quickly.

I was very into Dawson's Creek at the time, less so Dawson himself. I agree Apt 23 was his best work, I noticed it is on Disney+ now.
 
Wow this really hit me despite not being a Dawson’s Creek fan.

His symptoms were almost identical to mine when I was diagnosed and I was also diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer - though mine was anal rather than bowel. But goes to show how easily mine could have gone the same way once it reached the lymph nodes. Feel very very lucky to be here still.

48 is no age at all. :(
 
That's me watching Dawson's Creek from the start, then. Like Schitt's Creek, it'll hit different from now on but it will always be pure nostalgia from a time when things seemed to be less crushingly shit. RIP.
 
Sad news.

However there is now GoFundMe that’s been set up for his funeral expenses as apparently the family can’t afford it. Despite the fact that they own a mansion in LA and a ranch in Texas. They want to stay in the family home. :eyes:

Attention to this he was a well-known MAGA anti-vaxxer.
 
he was auctioning off some personal items, or planning to, at the end of last year to fund treatment. so at the very least there probably are cash flow problems.
 
I wouldn't be too quick to donate (not that I imagine anyone here would), but if he was MAGA, I'm sure they've got it in check.
