I like "Better Days". It's the most Velvet Rope esque moment on the album IMO.
it's at least TRYING! but like so much of the album it really feels a bit vapid. I don't know any details about the marriage/divorce but it feels a lot like she checked out artistically and just made a LABEL BIG POP GIRL ALBUM, no?

I hope @Suedey or @Ellie has some hot trivia about this

A rare moment of introspection from Janft on this album. I understand the intent/concept behind the album but the execution was shit overall. It's uneven, messy and all over the place. Like a squirting orgasm. I guess in that sense she achieved what she wanted to. :bad:

Well as @POP! said earlier - there was some kind of lawsuit down the line with her ex-husband RENEE who claimed that he had ghostwritten most of the big albums. I think they got divorced around this time..

I already knew the singles, and I have now added You Ain't Right, Come On Get Up, and Feels So Right to my library. Much of the rest was FINE but not so thrilling. Some was terrible

Yes "uneven" definitely feels the most appropriate word for it. They should have just committed to making a good pop album without forcing the tropes of a typical Janft album to the 10th degree. The five sex songs along with "Truth" - all in the midsection - just makes it DRAG

"Who" is bit lackluster as well, but certainly better than the sex tracks and "Truth"!
