They were all singles. I even remember Because of Love being played and reviewed on Live & Kicking.
 
She did zero UK promo for RN1814 from memory. Which in those days was a bit more of a problem. No TOTP for starters.
 
I remember all the .janet singles cause I bought every single one of them on multiple formats. :disco:

Again, not really. It used to happen a lot. It was around that time it changed. Probably sparked by Natalie Imbruglia of all people (also with a lead single, though admittedly an artist slightly less expected to come out with a bang).

Got Til It’s Gone actually didn’t do *that* well in the US. A lot of pop stations wouldn’t touch it because it was too “black” with a dark, very “black” video and so airplay wasn’t actually that great. It’s discussed in the 33 1/3 book on The Velvet Rope. It was no surprise they went with Together Again afterwards and went all out, guns blazing on that release. I’ve often wondered if the airplay made them scrap any planned release and move straight onto the safer single or whether it was planned that way from the start as, as I said, it was fairly common practice.

Why are they showing that photo from about 15 years ago? SHe's clearly lost weight SINCE the tour started. Probably because she's energetically dancing around a stage nearly every night.

Totally understandable and yes, the right choice, but also ABSOLUTELY INSANE that those are the two songs she chooses to celebrate an Icon award! :D

Has the Someone To Call My Lover furore died down now?
 
It’s much lower than the 600k odd it got a day at its peak, but it’s still getting around four times as much as her second most streamed song, so it’ll likely hold top of her current popular tracks for a few months yet.
 
can they stop edging us and collab already? dust off a Body Language reject or something.
 
I imagine it's the algorithms doing their job, but top Instagram likes showing for me are Sasha Colby, Ms Jasmine Masters and Louise Redknapp :disco:

They've been having a mutual love off for some time now and it's quite delightful to see but, yes, a collab would surely be MARVELLOUS.
 
(What are the chances that her management orchestrated the whole thing and she had nothing to do with it?)
