Yeah I think it was more mainstream focused thread but I can't look right now because the bassline of this LA Priest remix is right up my GUNN.

note that The Message is actually a hot political bop. if Labour delivered their manifesto like this they'd probably be in power and the clubs would be open ALL NIGHT LONG.

I've been obsessed with Feed the Fire for the last week, so its nice to hear a different version
 
A-Trak is my absolute favourite remixer in the game - so versatile. this is quite a light touch-up of the original but the injection of bass and brass really lifts it from an 8.5 to a hard 10.
 
I love Weiss and the late 80s vibes but I don't think it suits Lady Gaga... or maybe I'm just too used to the original versions. Anyway I was never a big fan of 911. I think it's one of the weaker ones on the album.
 
I found 911 in piano-house form a bit jarring at first. I'm all over it now though. MAJOR BOPPERY. *sirens explode* god BLESS Weiss.
 
there's also an amazing Sofi Tukker remix. it's dark and creepy where this one is très HANDBAGS IN THE AIR. I went back and forth over which to use but ended up building a whole piano house segment so this one it was. but the other REALLY GOES OFF so I'll probably SAVE THAT FOR LATER.
 
the way the operatic backing vocals are brought to the front of the mix is quite divine. they're buried very deep in the original.
 
Slight diversion but you ladies might like this... had a listen earlier and it's brilliant, really uplifting piano house and old school influenced house, accessible but not cheesy.

I LOVE the The Vision album @Jark. It reminds me of the house remixes you get of neo soul artists like Jill Scott and Angie Stone... really soulful and groovy. "Mountains" is FIRE. Very Jocelyn Brown / Rosie Gaines remixed by Todd Terry in 1995 :disco:

Paul Woolford reminds of the early days of gay clubbing, when it was all handbag and deep house - gospel influences and big diva vocals. Milk & Sugar were the big act then. Late 90s. Such happier times. Everything he touches lately is gold.
 
Omg the backing vocals in this Paul Woodford remix are giving me flashbacks of THAT Agnes performance!

I'm very sad never to have had this experience. gay clubbing now is all techno or 00s pop nights. honestly had NO IDEA where to go for a good handbag house night in Berlin and it's the same SAD STORY in Amsterdam. :( at least Panorama Bar in Berghain has Honey Dijon sometimes I GUESS. not exactly the same vibe though.
