JARK.FM #6 (TONIGHT @ 9)

I'm starting to think I make these setlists way too long, given that I always lose everyone after 75 minutes :D

I don't know Delilah Montagu (love her name) but Shura is so talented and this is such a soundscape

Yeah I think it marries two of my early music genres loves that aren't pop. I would GLADLY consume a playlist if you mock one up for me, but don't feel the need to go to too much effort! :)

Totally here for a funky.fm btw. :disco:

oh it's what I do. Mixtapes are a passion. I was very sad when cassettes became obselete, then CDs, taking the joy away. Then Spotify came along :disco:

I couldn't possibly comment on the SHEER WORLD DEFINING GLORY that is the George Maple track because it makes an appearance on a soon to be finished funky countdown :eyes:

George Maple does not want Americans hearing her song (who can blame her), as it has been blocked from Spotify, Apple Music, and Youtube

and that's karma for Bush, the Iraqi war, Don't Ask Don't Tell, Trump and Elon Musk.

god Tensnake's ability to contruct a bassline that is a HOOK IN ITSELF is an absolute marvel. this remix just landed and it's already right up there with their best.

The Knocks have been involved with loads of interesting stuff across house, pop, indie and dance-pop, remixes and their own material. I'm still in the process of exploring it all but they seem quite VERS.

I was just about to comment on Tensnake's bassline magic. They've totally reshaped that track and sprinkled MAGIC all over it.

the Huarache Lights remix is a right WEIRD DELIGHT.

I chose to end on a note that barely feels like dance music at all. although it is ofc. it's a song I heard last week via a friend that immediately cheered me up.

Congrats Jark! Once again I knew about 60% of them but it was still a thrill :D

I've definitely heard Fisher before somewhere but I have no idea where...

Anyway, again, thank you @Jark!

thanks ladies and lucys :) building these playlists is really the ultimate selfish exercise because I discover so much good stuff for myself, so sharing them and giving funky one new song to discover is that little cherry on the cake :disco:

I hadn't heard that Paul Woolford remix of Gregory Porter and I'm keeping that, plus it made me reminisce about the glory days, so a good result all around!
