JARK.FM V: STUDIO 25 AFTERPARTY (Friday 10pm)

Sometimes it's so weird being in here as someone with no experience of cocaine whatsoever :tongueout:

I’ve used it in the past but it just makes me noisy and boring. Also the effect wears off very quickly. I think weed and MDMA (and acid, not that I’d necessarily go there again) interact much more effectively with music, at least in my experience

Living in Japan is EVERY BIT as STUPID and GLORIOUS as you'd expect a song called Living in Japan to be.

IN the land of the RISING SUN

I can obviously recommend much of the Fancy back cat although they’re not all about being rear ended. Well, OSTENSIBLY

Follow Me to Mexico is Something New through a hot Italo filter. and that video...

Follow Me to Mexico reminds me oddly of the Pet Shop Boys excellent b-side The Truck Driver and His Mate

This Sebastian Telier artwork is giving me The End of Evangelion which is of course ALWAYS a plus in my book

calming down a bit for a couple of songs now before we go full DISCO CLASSICS for the finale

I discovered Echoes this week and have been entirely obsessed. the chorus is HUGE!

Ugh! the laser in the chorus of Echoes is EVERYTHING! the kind of song that makes me sad more people will never HEAR IT.

Germans and Italians were bizarrely obsessed with Japan and all things (ahem) Oriental in the eighties if the records are anything to go by. (Fancy’s ‘Chinese Eyes’ springs to mind.) Almost as if they’d only just realised it existed

I want to get really drunk and do this at karaoke with the accents one time. but it'll been a seven champagnes and four long islands kinda night.
