Yeah, it seems like she's genuinely upset about using the word, and I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt that she had no idea of its potency. Just off the top of my head, I can cite it being used in Gimme Gimme Gimme, by Alan Carr in a stand-up routine, and by RuPaul, so she could well have looked to the wrong part of the LGBT spectrum for confirmation that it was okay to use, if that makes sense?

I know what I said on the first page and stand by it. I still never got a valid reason as to why she is disliked. Has she said/done something terrible other than released a few beige songs?
 
We have a cancellation thread for celebrities who have done various horrible things. Why does she get her own thread?

Does she not hold the record for most UK number 1’s for a British female? I assume she chose to step back from the music industry. Not surprising when she is so hated for no real reason as that can’t be great for a persons mental health.

I stand by my comments re: the Isle Of Wight festival. To go out on the lash the night before a big gig and then pull out due to "exhaustion" is inexcusable. I'd missed her dalliance with the t-slur but it sounds like she had something to learn - if she's learned it, all to the good, we're supposed to be all about growth.

As for Jet 2, well...having dealt with a lot of customers they refused to refund in 2020, I'm taking neither side. :eyes:

I am not saying she is perfect, and don’t actually know all that much about her other than a couple of good songs, and quite a few non descript ones hence why I have asked a few times what she has done that is so bad she has to be cancelled. We have a thread for that stuff and it is usually for reasons a million times worse than I have found in here. I have been advised she is universally hated by the gays for no real reason and just think it is all a bit horrid in this nasty social media led World we live in now. Hopefully she is wise enough not to read the faceless comments, and it doesn’t get to her as it can all lead down a very dark route.
 
This is hardly a targeted campaign of abuse. I don’t like her, many others feel similarly and there’s nothing wrong with expressing dislike for a public figure.

Quite a few choice comments on her and her appearance in the thread. You have just changed the thread title. There are examples in this very thread of objectionable remarks.

almost everyone who's been unfortunate enough to meet her or have some interaction with her IRL has said she's horrible and rude. usually when people get that reputation it's not for nothing.

the Sexy Fish story completely backs everything up.

I will play her music if she has bops waiting to go but let's not feel too sorry for her because some gays online don't like her.

Almost everyone? What a load of UTTER SHIT. Ellie has stated in the thread that she knows of someone who said she was LOVELY.

I can feel sorry for whoever I want thank you sweetheart, as I know social media chooses to vilify people for no rhyme nor reason other than the author of the post to get likes.

As I still don’t know why she should be CANCELLED. It is is all I asked in the first post today. I am not here for slagging off someone due to the fact someone knows someone and said she is a bitch. Where is the PROOF? You clearly only see one way.

Do we really need to be so negative on someone? What harm has she actually done.
