all sounds great. especially Sauna and No Consequences.
 
I’ve been listening to the album since the leak and I’m very much enamoured with it! A delicious mix of disco, soul and bops! Most people will despise 16 Summers but I rather like it. Mon Amour is the only one I’m not fussed about.

Don’t You Know Who I Am? is like something from Liza’s Results opus! Yes it’s THAT good. No Consequences is also glorious.
 
With sauna season imminent, I'm rather intrigued to hear Sauna. Listening to a leak of an album I'll hear for free anyway means I can wait. Do my part n' all.

Well it's about her kids growing up and it's very on the nose and mawkish, so I can imagine a lot of people will be rolling their eyes, but I just think it's lovely! It sounds like it could be from a musical actually.
 
if we can get through Sam (the Glasshouse song) I'm sure I'll enjoy 16 Summers just fine. this woman has made three albums for the gays - let her have her song about the kids!!

I’ll be honest I normally don’t care for songs about singers’ kids, although I don’t begrudge them. There are exceptions though - Little Star for example. Sheryl Crow also did a lovely one on the Detours album called Lullaby For Wyatt.
 
She’s said when performing recently that the
Meaning of 16 Summers has evolved for her since her friend died so it might be a bit more open to interpretation

I want a signed album (not a signed insert which is what appears to be on her website) but don’t know what I’d want written.

I usually pick a lyric but nothing from the three released so far inspires/fits within the 30 character limit
 
I really like the album and think it will reveal itself well over the warmer days. she's in her bag.

it's not full of standouts but the mid section is great - Mr V, Love You For and No Consequences in particular. not feeling Don't You Know Who I Am or Mon Amour yet.

I like it, but my wig is gently nodding. It has not flown off.

This is falling exactly between Whats Your Pleasure and That Feels Good for me. It's not quite hitting the instant glittery heights of the former which really was a lightning in a bottle moment, but I'm glad she's toned down the on-the-nose-ness of TFG.

I'm not ignoring her previous albums in my rough ranking, I just very much divide her career into pre- and post- WYP which felt like a complete reset and the start of something new for her.

Agree that Sauna is a standout of what we haven't had already, and I'd put the title track up there too.
 
Flippin' love this album. Don't You Know Who I Am? and No Consequences are delicious, but really, it's all fab.
 
The TONAL WHIPLASH of total motherquake 'Don't You Know Who I Am?' into the sweetly sad '16 Summers'. She contains multitudes.

Those are my standouts on first listen, alongside 'Mr Valentine' and 'Sauna' (this coming after a 'Chariots' interlude :eyes: The gays are oversharing).
 
The start of No Consequences is triggering for anyone with a VALERIE AVERSION

It’s safe to say this 6th album campaign has been somewhat disappointing, but not because anything has been bad, it just hasn’t been the gay coma inducing heights I’ve come to expect of her since, as Tisch said, her WYP career reset. I think of the 3 ‘promo singles’, ICGUTT and Automatic are lush but way too similar, and Ride is almost a fabulous banger let down by a jarring sample.

On first listen there is a lot to enjoy here, and definite potential for growth. I like that she’s faithful to her source material - she sounds more like Donna Summer than Donna Summer does at times - but I’ve always preferred moody, sensual Jessie over flouncy bouncy Jessie. The R&B tracks are more instant for me so far. But I’m looking forward to diving in a bit more and I’m very optimistic!
 
It is obviously more playful but she's kind of in her Remember Where You Are vibe on the title track. Gorgeous.

I wonder if she'll be able to bag a number one album this time around. I thought she just lost out to the grating plucky Northern underdogs Lottery Winners last time but just looked and she ended up at number 3.
 
I just can’t shake the whole ’Geri Halliwell sells her soul for some vox’ vibe she’s giving this era.

Sauna is totally a thing Geri would stoop to if the spirit of Ginger Spice still lived in that woman.
 
I enjoyed my first listen today - it ain’t earth-shattering but it’s a good album.

I fully get what she’s doing here, what’s she’s done with That Feels Good and vocally she’s doing beautiful stuff but I also prefer my Jessie Ware with an air of suspense and a bit more “shadow” (WYP, obviously but also e.g. the 1-2 punch of Keep On Lying / Champagne Kisses for more mid-tempo material).

It’s fun but much like with T!FG!, it’s veering a dangerously close to “And Just Like That…” Sunday brunch / afternoon cocktails soundtrack music. It’s lush, yes but where’s the sour tangy contrast?
 
I do think that she will mix it up next time. This album takes the big vocals and warm, lush production as far as she can go and she'll hopefully be ready for a bit of shade and ice. I would love for her to explore something like the direction of The Kill a little more.

I also miss the darker edge that was present on the last two records and especially WYP. also vocally she sounds great but I feel she's being less experimental with her voice overall. some of its many shades are not represented here at all.
 
Well, and signed CDs for a fiver. Announced well after many fans had their pre-orders in.
 
This is definitely her weakest overall offering for a while but that still places it above most other artists obvs.

Have to skip Ride. I cannot stand that sample.
