Jessie Ware - What's Your Pleasure?

Can you cancel someone who is literally not on the radar of 99.9% of the population?

I had my first viewing for my flat today, and had this record on display. Anyway the guy commented 'oh I love that album'. Basically what i'm saying is that my flat viewings are now the promo for this.

I suggest you move in with and marry him, these opportunities don't come up that often!

Mortgage boyfriends are the latest chat lounge trend! I might be one soon too :o

This one should go down well. It's a gay club 90s gay italo gay piano house revival gay club house mix.... you have to separate from the original which did NOT need a remix and see it as a different song. And it's all kinds of :disco:

ah i don't like the Tobtok remix even half as much as the glittering, essential Georgia Remix :disco:

I went out for dinner and spilt some food on my What’s Your Pleasure jumper

it better not stain

So thanks to whoever said the white vinyl was reavailable again after it had sold out as I bought it, played it a few times and then sold it on Discogs for £95.

Have rebought the black version for £17, so don’t worry Jessie loons, she hasn’t lost any sales!

What do you think of the album now, Shee?

this album has truly been a tonic in these trying times.

10 spotlight - simply glorious. from the intro, through the beat kicking in, the ah ah aaahs and the i want your love strings
09 what's your pleasure? - an unexpected slice of debauchery
08 ooh la la
10 soul control - i can't help but erupt in death-by-funk-related convulsions when this comes on
10 save a kiss - unadulterated romance and euphoria
07 adore you - maybe i begrudge it a little for being on the album (and overtime not  ) but i think it's the most slight track on the record
09 in your eyes
08 step into my life
07 read my lips
08 mirage (don't stop)
10 the kill - it reminds me of goldfrapp circa head first (aka a good thing) and then the big diva vocals at the end
10 remember where you are - a grand finale, it never fails to make me wish i were able to travel back in time and give it to a young diana ross. the way the intro reveals the actual song is such a cunt move

all in all, all hail jesus ware.

i'm greedy so here is a list of collaborators for the deluxe edition.

spotlight ft nile rodgers
what's your pleasure? (johnny jewel remix)
soul control (jungle remix)
save a kiss (duet with robyn)
in your eyes (shura remix)
mirage (don't stop) (todd terry remix)
the kill (duet with allison goldfrapp)
remember where you are (duet with diana ross)

thanks!

I've taken a long break from this album because I overdid it a bit. I think I'll go back this week.

it's a ridiculously brilliant affair and a total game-changer for her as an artiste so picking faves feels impossible, but the triple punch of What's Your Pleasure?, Ooh La La and Soul Control is quite simply everything. a total giddy rush.

The Kill, though, might be the best individual song... the "morning sun rising over the city" vibes of the final minute or so just end me.

I had a dip from overdoing it as well, thought maybe I’d overegged it, but I’ve found myself playing it again across my various playlists and really enjoying it

apart from the singles which remain glorious, In Your Eyes and Remember Where You Are have the real staying power for me

Grace Dent on this week's Table Manners is a hoot.

Lennie has started divulging her recipes btw.
