Joanne Rowling and other TERFs

If anyone puts “I enjoy listening to music and watching TV” in their hobbies I bin the CV immediately.

I assumed the hobbies section was just something for school leavers to include in lieu of actual experience.

Like, you've got a PAGE at most before I lose interest, surely you have a more worthwhile use of space than 'i enjoy gaming'.

she is so unhinged but also has never seemed less relevant? this place is the only time I see anyone talk about her these days. as Joannes go, she's even further from the cultural zeitgeist than the Lady Gaga album about her dead aunt.

So disingenuous. Yeah let’s label everybody who supports trans people as rapes supporters :manson: Stupid cunt.

By that logic, if Joanne is such a defender of “women’s rights”, and since Lucy Letby is a woman, then she supports killing babies.

God. I thought Martina only had issues with regulating sports for transgender athletes, I didn’t realise she’d gone full tilt crazy.

Why be like that? Ruining your legacy in the later years of your life. Makes no sense.

She has some horrible views for sure which are hugely disappointing. I wish I’d supported her opponents more now.

I can’t see this tweet on her account but I assume she is reacting to the whole piece about the person, particularly the last line, not giving her a defence though.

Julie Binjuice will be an absolute celebration when she finally drops dead.

Honestly, I do really appreciate when celebs stick their head even slightly above the parapet on this stuff because the response they get from the TERF lot usually only solidifies that position.

One of my colleagues is married to a one of the few columnists that will occasionally write something pro-trans. The obviously completely mental reaction they get each time has basically led them to conclude that the TERFS are effectively a cult.

I fucking LOVE Sandi. She used to have a bedroom next door to mine! She was Dean or Chancellor or some shit of the University of Portsmouth for a while and we live next door to the halls she had a room in- as apparently she wanted to stay with the students and in a room rather than a hotel room when she came down. Our bedroom windows literally were opposite each other- sadly, hers had frosted glass, but I like to think she would stand on a chair to look through the clear bit and see me wandering around in the NUDDY :disco:

It seems very cult like to me. They’re like flat earthers, so desperate to feel part of something that they double down on a philosophy until it becomes an obsession, no matter how unnecessary it is, how over the top it is, and how it might actually be harming people.

Utter bullshit. He's making a more than healthy living from his Substack. Anyway, I hope the bailiffs come on Christmas Day and take his car, his laptop and his left kidney.

In my old flat we had a lot of rooms and occasional rotation meaning we needed to advertise for new people to move in. Honestly people - if i’m getting hundreds of messages of interest, i’m going to need something slightly more than “I enjoy Netflix and the occasional glass of wine” to distinguish you from the others.

Went out with someone for dinner tonight (friend’s stepdad) who brought up the recent Miriam Margolyes/ Graham Norton discussion and he said it was an absolute lightbulb moment for him as he’d been someone who thought the whole debate about pronouns etc was all “just nonsense” until she just broke it down to “why wouldn’t you want to make someone feel happy?” and his wife agreed and then someone else (also older) at the table said the same thing had happened to them.

So interesting how all it takes is a “loveable”and (dare I say it) “safe” mainstream pensioner to break through in a way all the other ways haven’t…

Community notes are exactly that - people have to add them. Pile-ons like this are quite regular but they're usually short lived.

I love the fact that someone is dead and all the TERFs want to moan about is what gender the killer was assigned at birth. Many feels, much compassion.

I love Mae :disco:

90% of the replies agree with JKR though. Sad to see. But one of the reasons I restrict my access to X these days.
Mostly why I deleted mine.

Depressing thing is, it is representative of public sentiment going by comments I was hearing in the pub last night. (As is "can't we just hang 'em?")
