He's not an ally. But who the fuck is interested in what Tony Blair has to say in 2020? Why hasn't he taken the memo and fucked off to a long retirement with Cherie in his (slightly-less-bourgeoise-than-Dave's) caravan already? The man is a fucking war criminal. Have some decency and leave us alone.

He put gay equality in law. I'm not ready to hate just yet.

She’s on another late night terfy rant on Twitter.

Imagine being a billionaire and this is how you spend your sozzed up Saturday nights.

It’s mind boggling that she chose this moment in time when the world is on fire and it’s pride month to come out with this nastiness. Fuck the cunt.

"Mask off" seems to be the order of the day lately, whether it's Trump (not that he had much of one to begin with) or some other nasty like her.

It's hard to navigate but is it wrong to say that there is probably some truth in suggesting that you can be supportive of trans rights and support the notion that trans women are female whilst also raising the point that women born biologically female endure inequalities and discrimination that are exclusive to them?

I mean, I wouldn't disagree with that, which is essentially her point (albeit worded very badly in those first tweets). She's quite adamant about being pro-trans despite thinking this.

I haven't read everything by the way, so if I've missed something big then please share.

I see what you’re saying but trans women are women. Full stop. There’s nothing further to add.

She's owning and elaborating on the comments she's making, so I'll at least say she believes she's making a valid point, but it all comes across like she's saying 'I love trans folk, but women are women.'

I’ll just go with what I said on twitter: the way she is using her platform to push her views on trans issues despite being 100% aware how impactful and hurtful they are to people she allegedly “knows and loves” — just because she is convinced her point of view is right.

That says it all about her character, really. And to do it at this point, during Pride month and while everything is going on in the world. Vile.

Yeah I get that. I guess I'm saying that there are areas of discrimination exclusive to those born female (and areas exclusive to trans women.

But reading more any point she's making veering in that direction is nullified by the posts surrounding it.

I mean, we're in the middle of a viral pandemic that disproportionately affects BAME people; thousands of black people are losing their lives needlessly due to police brutality and systemic racism; and now we're in Pride Month and (quite rightly) those of us with a platform are trying to emphasise that trans black lives matter just as much as any other life, and there you have this multi-millionaire ASSHOLE using her platform to spew out transphobic shit.

Read the room 'JK'! :manson:

I genuinely have no idea what her point is and why she feels it's so important to get across?
I see her point that the existance of trans people is somehow erasing women's experiences of being "women". No matter how much she elaborates or says "but I'm for trans rights!!" It's incredibly cunty and completely unnecessary and upsetting for someone of her stature. The comments are ALLA disparaging though so that's something. :D

She followed her post up by saying she'd received a call from a "butch lesbian" friend to THANK her for her post. SURE JAN.

Is anyone arguing that trans and cis women don’t have a different lived experience? I don’t see how acknowledging the former in any way invalidates the later, and why it could possibly mean so much to her to suggest so?

Totally. I also don't get why people can't just shut the fuck up. It never goes well for her when she goes on these tirades so why doesn't she ever think keeping her opinions to herself might be for the best?

Well, it doesn’t matter is the point.

Star’s experience of being a woman will be different to Rita’s, different to Octophone’s, different to Kate’s, different to Rachey’s.

Is any one individuals more valid than another’s? They’re all women.

Nobody is arguing that no, and nobody is seriously arguing that 'sex isn't real' or whatever she's going on about. Part of how they operate is finding some fringe opinion from a radical trans activist from the far corners of Twitter or Tumblr with barely any followers, so they can spread it through their network all the way to the high-follower accounts like JK while screaming "see?? This is what they all believe!". Then it becomes a strawman they can use to make their points, to try and normalise their own hatred before moving on to the next, worse point. Everything JK is saying is straight out of the TERF playbook btw, these are the 'reasonable' arguments they trot out early in the recruitment process - she knows exactly what she's doing, and it's really sad to see it coming from someone with such a huge platform.

I know we all know we're living in the darkest timeline but did anyone actually foresee the author of Harry Potter morphing into the writer of The IT Crowd on the social channel designed for self-important nutjobs to broadcast their most offensive inner monologues a mere three years ago? This shit cray.

She's so bitterly transphobic but puts out books under the name Robert Galbraith. Tosser.

Her strategy is straight out of the Glinner/Bindel handbook which, as much as anything shows, shows a surprising lack of imagination for someone who has written such successful fiction. Imagine being able to construct an entire magical universe in your head and yet being unable to comprehend that trans and intersex people exist.

I noticed that "Cho Chang" was trending at one point too - nice to see her getting dragged for that one at last.

I’ve never liked the Harry Potter books - tried as a child and as an adult, but I actually think they’re a very pedestrian view of what imagination looks like. Give me the fantastical CHILL of the world of the Moomins any day.

I know this has been covered but I don't understand who she's arguing WITH. She's making up a position that nobody holds, ascribing it to the trans community and taking up against it. It is bizarre and deeply unsettling

Thats it though she never is arguing with anyone. She sits there supping at the pinot, writing out these diatribes. And when everyone goes off on her, she doesn't reply or interact. Then a few weeks later it happens all over again. It's so weird, and as I said above, just so unnecessary. Just keep you mouth shut.

Exactly. That's the classic TERF approach - it is total strawman tactics.

I can't access Twitter today  I guess that foul Dementor Rowling sucked all life out of it!
