jazzed up pub food. looks good!

I planned on doing some shopping to get my gift boxes, but my legs were like slinkies after the gym (god that felt good to be back), and I imagine the traffic in Glasgow to be just horrid so first thing tomorrow it is then. This month is going so fast.

Yesterday in Glasgow wasn't that bad apart from Primark which had a three-hour queue. Three hours. In the rain. For Primark. Skipped today, will probs have a go on Monday.

I don’t understand this at all.

I love this old reel from a British inn where they make mulled wine and mulled ale (which is basically just sticking a hot iron rod into your jug)

I'm making mulled wine tonight (for the third time this month - alcohol dependency but make it FESTIVE) sadly I don't have a copper thingamajig OR a fireplace :(

Someone that used to work for me got a pair of shoes out of Primark and she was chatting ALL DAY about how they cost £6 or something equally ridiculous. By lunch time the sole had fell off.

One of the great benefits of declining bits of dead animal over Christmas is not having to find ways to make turkey an acceptable foodstuff. There's a reason why you need gravy, potatoes, carrots, sprouts, pigs-in-blankets, a considerable amount of alcohol and a ridiculously indulgent pudding. That reason is: turkey is dry, tasteless and feels like sautéed cardboard in the mouth

OK. So...Primark is a place where people shop when they have a low to average income...

I know that. I was saying I don’t understand the APPEAL. Yes, it’s cheap but other high street stores do it better for just a marginally increased price.

What is the thing all the way to the left that looks like a meatball? and the circle thing left of the (non-toppy) carrots?

That would be a ball of stuffing and a Yorkshire Pudding respectively.

I thought it was STUFFING at first but it looks a bit too MOIST.

No, don’t be silly. I knew you were joking. I still don’t get the Primark appeal though.

From what I can gather, it's great if you are between 5' 3" and 5' 7" and refuse to wear an outfit twice. Otherwise, their hoodies are decent if you go one size up from your usual.

So what do you get for that? It seems very reasonable for 10.

She's a small local business down the road to me, so you get starters (samosas) a main dish and a dessert. It's enough for us I think, we're having both parents over separately on the day.

I don't mind a bit of primark, it does the job, although I don't buy shoes from there.

Would you wait 3 hours to go in though? I’m not sure I would have the patience to wait outside any shop for longer than 10 minutes.

Oh hell no!! I'm avoiding it right now tbh because it's manic. But in normal times they're ok for everyday clothes, especially when little grubby hands mess your clothes up constantly :D

I have actually admired some clothes from Primark that others have been wearing in the past. I know it is cheap and cheerful, and does the job but just don’t get why people would queue for a mile to get in. That just really baffles me.

I do wonder why they don't get into online ordering/ delivery. I think they'd make a fortune

My coworker has started using the word queue often recently and she pronounces it phonetically and it just bothers me so much for some reason, but if I said anything I would look like an asshole

I'm trying to work out how she's pronouncing it? KYOO-EE-OO-EE? KWAYWAY?

I've bought a bottle from the local red-nosed wine dealer, just looking at it gives me a hangover. if this doesn't kill the last remaining covid creepers in me, nothing will

I’ve just ordered a 3 bird roast because I couldnt handle just turkey but everyone wanted turkey

Technically 4 dead animals in one 5kg bundle to be slapped down on the table
