I gave the album a listen this morning and it is pretty solid as a whole. I definitely miss a bit of that lushness that the first album had though, and there does seem to be a repeated tendency to build within a song and take it back down again in a way that is a little unsatisfying.
 
I've been listening to his last album quite a bit this week. He's also released two pairs of songs which are leading to an EP I think. First Time is gorgeous, all piano and atmosphere:



Josef comes over all hot and heavy on One More Night which is the pick of today's twosome:

 
Only a couple of new songs on the EP but it is a very strong collection and probably more in line with the first album than Modern Anxiety:



He did a livestream performing and talking about the EP, he's an admitted oversharer on one glass of sipped champagne.

Yes very much loving The Drum. Also The Close / Le Réveil is getting a vinyl release at the same time as the album which I am pleased about.
