Still think that EastEnders episode with just her and (my personal style icon) Ethel Skinner was an astonishing piece of TV.

We knew she decided to leave Eastenders without Dot getting a proper send-off. Since they still talk about her often with updates over Sonia having control of her money, I’m surprised they never officially killed off the character. I wonder if they were waiting for this so the characters mourning Dot will doubly be mourning June.

Even at 95, I actually thought she had a good few more years left in her, so was quite surprised this afternoon. Not too sad though, what a life she left, sad for the loss, but feel more celebratory of her long life. God bless her. She'll be having a fag with Wendy Richard now
