I've been cherry picking different Artpop tracks recently and a lot of it just isn't very good. the dreadful noisy chainsaw EDM production from DJ White Shadow... career lows like Swine, MJH... Fashion petering out with a limp "fashion, fa-fashion" hook instead of climaxing properly... the absolute lack of a chorus of any kind on GUY... whatever the fuck Dope was serving... Donatella being equally brilliant and awful... some of it is so first draft and sounds like the work of someone who was completely high off her own success. even Applause sounds a bit weak these days.

yes you also have Artpop the song, SEXXX dreams, Gypsy, MANiCure on a good day. but that's kind of it for me.
 
I put on a Gaga workout playlist the other day and Swine came on. I have never felt more SEEN.

Agreed that ARTPOP is flawed, but this is mostly wrong. Fashion and MJH are excellent. On the other hand, I think I never dared to go back to Swine, Dope or Manicure after the first listen. Applause is a good pop song but I prefer Do What You Want. GUY is decent but was a misstep as a single, I would’ve gone with Gypsy.
 
I know it went viral but didn’t expect it to reach this milestone, maybe ever. Born This Way will probably have to wait another year to get there. Pretty astonishing for a pre streaming era relative flop (at that point in her career)

 
Telephone passed the billion mark a few days ago as well, so she now has nine songs to have hit that milestone. Judas will overtake Telephone in a week or two.

The next two songs to hit it will be Million Reasons (currently at 962m) and Paparazzi (925m). Both should do it by the middle of next year at current streaming levels, and Paparazzi is likely to overtake Million Reasons to do it first.

I also think the video has endured as one of her finest visuals. the lewks are genuinely iconic.
 
Abracadabra into this is a life altering experience, and I feel immense sympathy for those saying Flop.
