49ers - Feels like it's trying to tick every anthemic dance box. At least it's trying I guess
 
Shungudzo - just noise to start but I like the way it evolves and the latter half ends up very dreamy.
 
Elley Duhé - so my criticism of Inna, this does the same and rectifies it, but only a bit. It's not enough
 
Tracey Thorn - Okay, this surely trumps any chat about MUNA being too known. But maybe we can stretch our rulebooks for a speed round. It is also of course fucking AMAZING so how can I not give it points
 
Panic Shack - I want and should despise this :D Nope, I can't. Lots of energy. Quite topical, about as subtle as being slapped with a cold Tesco pasty though. Just makes me want that shit supermarket sushi now
 
Regi and Camille - They sound like a classic Corrie couple. Well they've certainly fed everything into the gay song machine and it more or less works. Who are they? Melodifestivalen could do with more of this rubbish
 
Hanna Ferm - oh this IS a melfest person isn't it. Now this is a fun basic bop that delivers. Inna and Elley found crying in the bin
 
Danielle Duval - JAUNTY with a sad tinge. Probably a grower which might have done even better in a regular ASFM
 
Anitta - This somehow feels acceptable in the all important "too well known for ASFM" debate. Not that I am actually familiar really. This treads a very safe line but you're all lying if you say it's not a fully fledged banger
 
LF System - Sorry but I hate this. It reminds me of that mid 00s dance sound that was all over everything, I hated it then and this does nothing to change it. Also just sick of her saying she's hungry, thank god it was only just over 2 minutes. Too much. I suspect this will be popular in some quarters however so never mind my whining

Carol Polachek - oh her. I never felt the need to go further with this one because I didn't get her like most of moopy seem to, but this is lovely so maybe I should rethink that. What gorgeous wailing (with a Mediterranean twist)
 
Camille - I want to like this so much more than I do :( If you're going down this road I want even more vocal gymnastics and sonic curve balls. But it's got something
 
Weronika Juszczak - This chugs along very nicely. Polish is a change I didn't think I needed
 
Gamble - oh it's one of THEM. It's gay as fuck and that chorus is brilliant, okay? Okay?!
 
Perfume - Just a whole heap of fun. This will be up there. Love whatever sounds are going on here
 
Bis - how do I justify laying into this when claiming I enjoyed the meal deal crap. Well I can't. Actually it's kind of fun. There you go, I'm backtracking and justifying all at once
 
Max Richter - I'm disappointed. There are surely better sub 3 minute mood pieces than this. Perhaps a certain someone just didn't care enough :( oh wait, it's building to...oh it ended
