Yeah I don’t get the whole “Papaoutai was well known so I won’t vote for it”. It didn’t even chart in the UK and there were plenty of people that hadn’t heard it. Same for saying you wouldn’t vote for the Trans-X song because it was a top 10 hit at some point, I don’t think anyone said they’d heard it before, so seems a bit of an odd thing to do.

I'd never heard that Papaoutai song, even if I had I don't think it would affect my score. I was already familiar with the Czech song before the contest, but it's still one of my favourites.

I've got "I Will Always Love You" put aside for the next one.

I mean I can understand people not voting for something like THAT because it’s well known, but not voting for a song because it was well known even though next to no one had heard it seems a bit odd

I'm prepared to vote for well known songs but I generally apply a penalty if I'm personally familiar with them. That doesn't apply to Trans-X or Papaoutai, which will instead receive a penalty as a result of not being very good.

Can the next Kalavision be made up just of Fangoria songs?
