That really is fucking brilliant. I was about to ask if they'd ever done an English language version, but apparently it's by someone called Carla-May Japseye (sp?) and the English version is already quite famous. Who knew?

Anyway, I was listening to Sims music the other day. I used to make the kids watch TV all the time just so I could listen to this:

Yeah I'm not sure I'm down for the 'one per season' thing... Other people have enjoyed hosting and @Ag and @Soldi both did fantastic jobs.
 
They really have quite quickly become Moopy staple.

I think lockdown forcing the in sync viewing parties has changed the way we do music stuff on here forever.

@Ag suggested that it would probably be me to host next because of DC's extra-curricular activities, but to be honest I'd have passed the baton back to him (or onwards) so am quite happy for Kala to give it a go. And who knows what situation we'll all be in in a few months' time.
 
I’m OUT OUT OUT as I am not listening to over 30 songs, 2 semis and a final of songs in other languages. Sorry hun, but shove your Italian and Swedish classes up your ARSE. Some of us can barely speak the Queens English. :zsazsa:
 
A novel theme might have been letting people who made an effort last time still have an eligible song. My song isn't on spotify anyway.

There's going to be OTHER contests after this run by other people, you can keep songs for them if they don't fit into this edition of Kalavision. I had a vision to do a few of these, if it goes down well, but the next one wouldn't be till October-ish which is a LONG while away, and plenty can happen in that time frame, and other stuff can happen. But it's not set in stone.

You've still got it for the next one. If my choice for original Kalavision was in English, then I wold have entered it for something further down the line. It's not, so it is eligible for this and will clearly win. :disco:
 
To play fair I won't enter any other competitions in case anyone reuses their original Kalavision entry for another competition.

Also, @Rita, that's a shame you won't even give it a go, I think you could be pleasantly surprised!

You should feel free to enter any competitions that you want to. I'm sure no one would think that you'd vote down a song because you know who tried to enter it for original Kalavision.

I am a massive music buff who still tries to keep up to date with new music which may I say darling is hard enough. I like to connect with the lyrics to a song and I am not going to be spending half my life typing lyrics in to google translate. Sorry babe, but NO, KEEP IT.

And I don't understand why you can't enjoy a song not understanding what the lyrics mean, it's like saying you can't like a painting without knowing the context and fully understanding what is about.

I have now changed my song, because the original one was ever so slightly a nationalist anthem to honour a dictator. I wish I could say I was unaware of this prior to submitting it.
