her sixth but first entirely English album



it took a couple of listens but there are some gorgeous songs here. and the vocal acrobatics! her upper register is crazy.

Lose My Cool (stunning outro), Sugar! Honey! Love! and the doo wop All I Can Say are my early faves

I've only heard the pre-release singles and All I Can Say (which is gorgeous). I'll have to give it a listen.

Eventually got round to playing this. Lose My Cool jumped out. On first listen it is all very nice but could do with a bit more variation. Isolation is her other album I properly got into, and I feel that was more diverse.

Territorial does have a bit of a different mood, and I liked that one too.

those were my exact thoughts almost verbatim after a couple of listens too. it is a bit too samey but the individual songs do start to jump out too.

My album of the year so far.

I don’t think it’s especially interesting and definitely if you’re not already a fan… I imagine this would feel like a bit of a wash out.

For me though, it’s so cohesive, and really moving in parts too. The second half of ‘Lose My Cool’ in particular really is just wow.
