I believe the threshold for older tracks is #50. If it holds up, it should re-chart. Not sure if re-peaking is possible since its airplay is virtually non-existent and that is still heavily weighted.
 
Utterly AGOG at this development. Is it treated as a novelty hit that has been rediscovered, a bit like that Journey song that was in Glee and then recharted? Are the 80s THAT LONG AGO that it's all treated as NEW by the people who are driving the discourse these days?
 
I hope it SPURS HER into recording another album, but knowing her she'll probably focus her attention on the PETUNIAS in the GARDEN.

They really ARE that long ago :D almost 40 years!
And I guess it’s timely - you see ASFM (well I don’t think you do) has no shortage of modern day 80s pastiche songs. Sometimes I can’t tell if they are brand new or actual vintage
 
She may not have been that big at the time in America, but Kate Bush definitely has somewhat of a cult following among cooler teenagers today already so that helps
 
It's being sold as Generation Z's first encounter with R KATE.

For reasons I can't recall she came up in class a while back and quite a few knew of her. Some even claimed her as a fave.

I mean look at R @Soldi. He's just chosen his options and he did a comprehensive fact filled Kate Bush countdown ONLY LAST YEAR.
 
The gay Atlanta meme Instagram account (:eyes:) always posts about Kate Bush, way more than Tori Amos or comparable singers
 
My fifteen year old sister was given Babooshka a good whirl a few months ago too. I’m not sure where THAT came from.
 
On the subject of her Gen Z appeal, I note with interest that barmy (but brilliant) Dreaming-era non-hit Suspended in Gaffa is one of her most streamed tracks. Did it go viral on some kind of virginity anxiety social stream? Or was it an unexpected soundbed on Euphoria? The mind boggles...

I’m slightly surprised she’s the one to hit that record, though it makes sense. Trying to think of other females who could potentially have come close.

Annoyingly Lulu is the first to come to mind, having had hits in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s.
 
Oh, Diana Ross also has five decades - I forgot about that duet with Westlife she had.
 
It would be fun that Running Up That Hill would have been top 10/20 in three distinct decades.

And they thought Wuthering Heights would be her legacy!

It might be this weekend or have already happened, but there is a KB tribute act (although I think they deserve more than that term would normally suggest) and I was really tempted to go. I saw a clip of them doing Suspended In Gaffa and it was just gorgeous that sense of Kate Bush admiration and washing machine fantasia - something good anyway.

Tina Turner comes close. She has top 40 hits in seven decades, but her best in the 00s was a #25, and her only 20s hit was a #31.

Disturbingly, it's the equivalent of a song from 1948 being rediscovered when RUTH was first in the chart.
