Kate's Hot Mess Hits TONIGHT 8pm

Heard this before. Not quite sure where. It's good stuff.

BC Camplight - I'm Desperate (2018)

I tend to think of BC aka BRIAN as the straight, underachieving John Grant. Another beardy, witty American who loves a keyboard. In 2015 he was deported from the UK after overstaying his visa due to an injury, and consequently wrote his "Deportation Blues" album from which this comes. He fucking HATES Theresa May and the Tories in general which is obviously excellent.

I fucking love this! I once put it on a playlist I made for a straight guy I wanted to fuck! (And reader, I FUCKED HIM!) It’s so deranged and kind of sounds like coming up on a BAD PILL.

Marvin Gaye - Sexual Healing (Kygo Remix) (2013)

I thought there was no point nominating this for Dance Anthems since some other Kygo stuff with female vocals was in already. But I LOVE this. Is this what tropical house is? I AM OLD AND I DON'T KNOW.

Kygo have been remixing old songs for a while. They did A-ha as well.

Children are going to think that Kygo was responsible for every song in the world. It's a shame that Marvin Gaye didn't use this track as a springboard to get some solo success.

FUN FACT: I Shazamed this while enjoying a Sunday roast in a pub.
Point of order: I have a horrible suspicion that this fun fact may actually be true, therefore missing the whole point of the exercise.

Planningtorock - Jam Fam (Chanel Show Version) (2020)

The most recent song on the list and I think on anyone's list! HA!

It's all so TRAGIC as well :(

‘Losing You’ is fucking incredible. Really properly fucking amazing. Makes up for all Beyoncé’s rubbish and the terrible tragedy of it all just makes me love it even more. OBVIOUSLY! :disco:

Broken Bells - After The Disco (2014)

Broken Bells are James Mercer off of mediocre indie lads The Shins and super-cool producer (and drummer) Danger Mouse, and I LOVE THEM.

Pet Shop Boys - Undertow (2016)

Super was INDEED a SUPER album and I thought this was the most 90s dance track on it, so 'ave it.

I only really heard 'The Pop Kids' from this Pet Shop Boys album, which I didn't like at all. This is much better.

John Maus - Head for the Country (2011)

GOTH TIME BITCHES! I would DIE for John Maus. I agonised over which song to put in but went with this since it has a video. Oh god I love him.
