Kate's Hot Mess Hits TONIGHT 8pm

The Sisters of Mercy - Lucretia My Reflection (1988)

My personal favourite from the legendary Leeds doom-meisters.

Siouxsie would have fitted well into this section to break the blokes up a bit but I DON'T LIKE HER

It's a testament to how completely the charts have been ruined that it is unthinkable that something like this could go top 20 these days. :disco:

I occasionally confuse The Sisters of Mercy and Army of Lovers, but they aren't the same thing at all.

Kontravoid - Cut to Cleanse (2012)

I heard this at a goth night and was like "ooh this sounds a bit like John Maus WHO IS IT" God bless Shazam.

For Zu's benefit, here's what Kontravoid looks like

Placebo - Slave To The Wage (2000)

I said I might put them in after the dmLADSLADSLADS indie disco and I did. Why are so many goths called BRIAN? I should have bunged Marilyn Manson in here too. I know one called Colin as well. We call him Colin the Goth. Bless.

Crystal Castles ft. Robert Smith - Not In Love (2010)

At one club night I was at, the goths all sat this one out but leapt up to dance to "Together In Electric Dreams". Those crazy vampires.

Oh, what a magnificent choice. This was very near to getting a place in my list so I'm very pleased to see if here.

Bamboogie. Another brilliant song. Love the cartoon video too, even if some of it is a little racially questionable.

Have to say I'm loving this even if I thought he was dead

I need to look into The Cure more for sure

Crystal Castles are the ones to look into if you don’t know them already. Absolutely one of my favourite bands EVER and so many fucking amazing songs. Shame about the ever so slightly problematic relationship between the two of them but we all secretly knew that the CC edge had to be coming from somewhere. (Shame also that Alice has ended up with another abuser and with significantly less satisfying musical consequences :()
