Ive only watched the "Live in London" part of the Da Vinci Code set...I downloaded it the other day, though, so I will get around to watching it SOON ENOUGH fingers crossed...

The wine tasting is CLASSIC though :D

The wine tasting is CLASSIC though :D

I wasn't expecting much from the film and was pleasently surprised, so if you watch it with the same mindset I'm sure you'll love it

The bit in the Wine Tasting where Jane Turner steps out of character and has a go at Gina Riley for not being too drunk to ad lib is absolutely priceless. I love it when Gina Riley gets the giggles and tries not to laugh and stay in character too, her face is so funny.

My series 3 also has an extra in it that wasn't on my friends series 3 DVD that I initially borrowed - its Prue and Trude on and Aussie TV show called The Panel, its very funny

I used to hate Prue and Trude, but I love them now. "Threw for yar caaarch" (Throw for your couch) is my favourite Kath and Kim catchphrase, its genius

I love Prue and Trude as well...and especially the simplistic way in which it's filmed :D

My favourite has to be-

Trude: Oh, that reminds me -- that little man from Beechtree and Sons is coming over to talk jojoba.
Prue: Oh God, I hope he's sober. Oh, we've got stacks of jojoba left over from October...can we help or are you just happy brahhhhhhhhsing?

:D

i have got REALLY into this since I arrived here, it's brilliant. I'm not sure which series is on tv at the mo, so I won't say anything that might be a spoiler. Where are you up to in England?

season 4 has just started on living tv. most people have downloaded though the whole lot. I got the DVD the other day.

I knorrrr! Absolutely loved it! I didn't think the 4th season was that good, as compared to many classic ones from the previous seasons.

Oh, and Karen episode is quite a highlight of the season really!

Oh well I'm not hugely impressed with the first 2 episodes so far

Episode 2 has a good episode trying to get out, but is spoiled by the horrific scene on the railway platform that was so cringy I couldn't watch and giving Kel too much screentime

Kel and Kath seem to be getting more screentime in this series than Kim  I am not impressed

I wish they would do a Prue and Trude spin off, they are the highlight of episode 2 by far

where did you get series THREE from? Is that avaliable on DVD in stores?

why can't they release it generally?

I have got a few tracks from the Kath N Kim Party Album too actually :shy: I just wanted a full length version of "The Joker" , which I'm still unsure as whether its a cover or an original compisition for the show

Big Girls Blouse, the sketch series where Kath & Kim first appeared as recurring characters, was released in the UK last week if anyone's interested....

So i've watched all of season 4, and I think it'd be best if they stopped making it now

The storylines have gone from a comedy take on an everyday situation to being absolutely stupid, Kath has become utterly irritating, arguable Kel has more screentime than Kim in the whole series, and the racist Kim episode was just plain offensive to the context of the series, and definately dented Kims character. It just wasn't funny and left a nasty taste in my stomach

Episode 5 (which is the moving house/Deal Or No Deal episode) was the only one that was vaguely the same as normal qualty, some of them had promise, like the episode with the award show - but just turn stupid with cameos and ridiculous plotlines

Prue and Trude are the only part of the show that doesn't seem tired, and as much as I'd like it, a spin off from them would probably also be dire

and can Matt Lucas only play ONE CHARACTER, his part was basically a slowed down Vicky Pollard, or a young Marjorie Dawes

and they're making an American version.....

Feig to Direct Molly Shannon's Kath & Kim
Source: Variety November 9, 2007

NBC has signed frequent Judd Apatow collaborator Paul Feig ("Freaks and Geeks") to direct the pilot for the Molly Shannon comedy "Kath & Kim," reports Variety.

Feig, a writer-turned-helmer, recently had a role in Apatow's Knocked Up. The duo co-created "Freaks and Geeks" and Feig directed Apatow's short-lived Fox series "Undeclared."

"Kath & Kim" is based on an Australian format about a woman and her daughter. Universal Media Studios and Reveille are producing the project, which -- barring any strike-related difficulties -- is expected to film later this fall.

Feig has directed a number of TV shows, including "Arrested Development," "30 Rock" and "Mad Men."

I would normally say FUCK OFF but if Molly Shannon is involved, I'm vaguely interested...

POTENTIALLY EXCITING NEWS :

NBC has ordered seven additional instalments of new comedy Kath & Kim, extending its first season to 13 half-hours.

Filming has recently been completed for the first episode of the show, which centres on the dysfunctional relationship between mother Kath (Molly Shannon) and daughter Kim (Selma Blair).

The series, based on the Australian show of the same name, will premiere on October 9 in the coveted slot following The Office.

This of course does not really mean anything in reality, but you could infer that it has actually turned out quite decent instead of the car crash we were expecting. I think it could work as long as they translate it to America properly, instead of trying to copy the Australian show. They managed it with The Office however, so WHO KNOWS

Also Molly Shannon is a truly great woman

What a hard task they have given themselves. Are they going to replicate the accent nuances? PLOISE. LOOK AT MOI, LOOK AT MOI.

Aww I was MAD about Kath and Kim for like 10 minutes when I bought series 1 and 2 and LOVED them, but because I don't have Living I never got to see series 3 and 4 and I forgot all about them when I was waiting for the DVDs :(

GOD BLESS MOLLY SHANNON

I'm so happy for her that she's finally gone prime time

She was the best ever recurring guest on Will & Grace, and there were MANY to choose from

From dlisted -
The US version will take place in a suburb in Florida. It's the same set-up. Molly will play an overly positive mother and Selma will play her celebrity-obsessed, bitchy daughter.

Selma also claims she gained some weight to play chunky ass Kim, "The joke is I wear the same clothes from when I was 13 and when I sit down there will be a big roll over my shorts and I call myself the hottest thing. There will definitely be the appearance of a thong or two."

Selma Blair does NOT have enough podge in that picture. She worries me. I would have preferred an unknown. An uglier unknown.

if they really think they can recreate this show to be set in AMERICA with different actresses, then they have absolutely missed the point of the show in the first place...

Oh the Yanks remake absolutely EVERYTHING.
They are doing a version of Spaced in the US too. UGH

the show is about the Australian class system and Australian culture. Yes, it works on a whole host of other levels too, but I don't see how this American version is going to be anything but "a bratty daughter and a zany mother" Whoop-de-do

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/DE-FepzzYQA&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/DE-FepzzYQA&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Hmmm, not at all convinced from that. Selma Blair is already WELL SHIT compared to the original Kim.

Oh actually I quite like the way they've completely remodelled the concept into an American sitcom

It retains the charm but with a different sense of humour

Yes the brilliance of the original characters is completely gone but that was inevitable

It will be interesting to see whether the American jokes work full time

Strange how the ENTIRE clip is built around Blair... OK yes Kim is the best character but Molly Shannon has far more potential in this, Blair is definitely going to be at LEAST mildly disappointing, at worst downright dreadful

I'm in a "WAIT AND SEE" mood on this

Yeah, I'm not TOTALLY turned off by that clip but totally agree with Funky, Molly Shannon is the one I'm interested in.

Wait and see, most definitely.

I'm not a big fan of the original, but the original looks like genius compared to the American clip there.

That clip just looks SO wrong compared to the original.

Did they should just stop with the UK dvd releases after series 2? I want the others but not enough to pay £45 which series 3 is selling for on Play.

i have watched Series 4 recently and i am really disappointed
it has been just so hit and miss, especially the Matt Lucas episode which was just awful

not BIG on all the celebrity cameo appearances either, they just don't float my boat

I loved the end bit where Kim starts lobbing dog poo over Mandy's fence though. Just drops the shovel and starts using her hands :D

Pru and Trude at the Fountain Lakes Retail Awards is THE highlight of s4. AMAZING.

Yeah, I really enjoyed Series 1 and 2 and was looking forward to 3 being released but it never happened so I forgot all about this. :(
