Years ago, a friend of mine and I had a game where we’d replace a word in the chorus of a hit song with ’lesbian’.

We both agreed that the funniest answer by far was Ke$ha’s Timber.

Anyway these new songs are Godawful but I just thought I’d share that.

The Drama and Peace & Quiet are BOPS! the former is absolutely delicious. even the last minute where she's singing about her cat on a loop.

get into The Drama, moopy. it's such a bop on a fairly bopless album.



really appreciating how much she's switched it up with this album. she's never sounded this playful or experimental. and it's clearly a cathartic record, but not a totally optimistic one. it reminds me a lot of RAYE's album in its approach to subjects of trauma. really IMPRESSIVE STUFF from madame sebert.

also, "in the next life I wanna come back as a house cat" that is certainly a lyric that was sung

I really like this album. It's pretty gloomy. A bit of a change of pace from the usual empowerment/party anthems, but I'm glad - if she was going to have to be dragged along on Dr Luke's record label - she could use the opportunity to make something interesting and uncomfortable and wildly uncommercial.

Bar about three tracks I didn't find this album very appealing but kudos to her for trying to do her own thing for the last three albums already. When I was done my algorithm threw out Cannibal and everything improved.

I don't have much appetite for this album at all (never go back to the last two albums, and only like 1/3 of the singles from this project) but listening now.

I'm enjoying this overall. Eclectic, experimental, but some of it is surprisingly instant. This is her Madame X. "The Drama", "All I Need is You", and "Only Love Can Save Us Now" stand out.

Little bit obsessed with 'All I Need Is You' at this moment in time. What a beautiful, bittersweet little song.

The good news is she has announced a (rather short) US Tour starting in October so...

she did a live acoustic EP with performance videos for each - Fine Line is quite spectacular loving this JANGLY, STRANGELY HAPPY REINVENTION!









also, the spaceship set is high camp.

Fine Line (Live) is surprisingly better than the album version. she managed to find a decent tune.

'All I Need Is You' is so, so, so, so lovely.
