KICK MY ASS :: An Essential Garbage sync listen (TONIGHT 8PM)

Great list so far, I’ve been multi tasking. One thing I’ve always loved about Shirl is she’s always been secure enough to be so generous and supportive of other female artists before and after her.

Cherry Lips is GREAT, but it was DOWNHILL post 2000. PROVE ME WRONG!

Weren't the fans really rude to her for bleaching her hair during this era? She looks INCREDIBLE.

Also is Cherry Lips problematic in 2021? I'm going to vote NO, but I have a feeling it will be reappraised at some point.

This was written about one of my FAVOURITE BOOKS - "Sarah" by JT Leroy.

About CHERRY VANILLA who wants to be the best LOT LIZARD there ever was :disco:

Cherry is also a 12 year old boy.

Cherry Lips is fun but not LEAD SINGLE QUALITY, tbh.

but then apparently it wasn't so I guess that's FAIR ENOUGH!

Just some of the lyrics (you look just like a girl/bought yourself a second chance etc), the peeing standing up in the video... I know Shirl was very pro trans at the time, but it might look a bit ODD nowadays. What doesn't though, I know :tongueout:

OMG now Automatic Systematic Habit is full on BANGERAMA.

it's also '10s era Garbage so of course it sounds like it was RECORDED in a WIND TUNNEL and MIXED on a DIRTY POTATO.

It's like they had 20 great songs they spread over 2 albums and then it was onto NEW STUFF from album three.

Radio more or less ignored them ENTIRELY in 2001 which was the reason, and a divisive Androgyny...it was horrible to watch unfold. Beautifulgarage is packed full of hits...just different to before!

Love this too. I have increasingly less to say about the later stuff, but this BANGS.

I've never heard anything from them post 2001 I don't think, but I like this one a lot

you MUST know Why Do You Love Me!

maybe by '05 in the US their exposure was stone dead though?

I need to see them again. I think they're still touring with Blondie. I mean!

ASH is one of my most played songs of that year I think, and still ranks top 10 of theirs I think. Despite the dip in quality they can still deliver
