Kim Wilde: Closer (New album and tour)

Never mind that prior to this, the only act announced so far was BLOODY CASCADA, so i was beginning to get worried

The enormous new Slovenian woman at work is off to see KIM in Liverpool tonight. And that's all the news I have

Still coming down from this. I absolutely cannot wait to see her again at some point. The Wildes just got what they do down to a tee so well. What a lovely woman and family. Oh and since I was at the front, I simply had to peel this off the stage.

The audience was kind of strange though. I was really taken aback that no one stood up for the opening number. It's also been a while since I felt so young :D

I’m surprised she opened with Hey Mr Heartache. I presumed she was going to run through Close in order as a result, especially after the second song was pissed away that early. It felt odd to then abandon that idea fairly quickly.

I still wish she’d change the fucking encore up a bit. I can’t remember it ever being anything different and I must have seen here 10+ times live now.

Scorpio plays so similar to Kids that it's almost playful trolling coming at the encore when we know the song most have came for. Much like when I wondered of Scarlett was getting Hangin' all to herself :D

The adjusted Close ballads section works really well, but I'd have shortened FLW and give a little of European Soul in there too.

In my opinion, she was trying to do 3 things: casual fan hits (essential), Closer and Close; and I feel only 2 of these are possible, with 1 being serve the hits. It was absolutely unreal dancing to Water of Glass, View from a Bridge and Chequered Love at the end.

Hourglass Human has became a big favourite of mine over the last few days. At first I thought Smalltime Boy meets Enjoy the Silence, but the big stadium pop thump is very much giving Never Let Me Down Again.

I used to really fancy Kenny back in the way back day

I do still love his first album, and those two things are probably not disconnected :D

A singles tour for 2027 has been announced and Tiffany is the support/special guest. Sounds like a must.

Definitely in for that!

Not sure how different to the recent Greatest Hits it will be, though, but that was amazing, so…

I initially thought the Palladium but that’s on a Sunday so might go for Liverpool or Birmingham instead as this feels like a Saturday night kind of affair.

Has anyone discovered the presale details? I've had a look around and found a link for the London Palladium, but nowhere else.

Was the presale today? SHITE, I thought it was tomorrow. I haven't even thought about where/ what/ how yet.

It is tomorrow, isn't it? For London (the only one I saw), anyway.

I nearly bit for Alison Moyet again in Bath (which was presale today), but thought better of it.

Not yet, the person I asked about going is fannying about that much about venue and date that I’m thinking of abandoning them for a solo trip.

Apparently the link takes you to the presale if you open it from Facebook itself below. Copy and pasting it to a browser doesn’t work at the minute. I wonder if the meet n greet includes Tiff as a bonus not that I’m too bothered about those.

Thanks for that link, but I was on the fence for £90 anyway, and it wouldn't even let me book 3 seats unless I went for VIP at twice the price, and I won't entertain the thought of that.

I think the memory of last year (when the set was probably largely the same) is good enough for me.

One thing I will say is the set will more likely be akin to the Greatest Hits tour, which is not the one you saw.

For a Kim casual, last year was FINE, but the GH was phenomenal as you got a lot of the lesser known singles thrown in that she hadn't done for years.

Perhaps, but I'm not that bothered about the majority of her lesser known singles, so I guess that underlines my decision.

I think for some of these venues the second tiered pricing seats are going to be fine anyway, I’d rather have a standing slot for Kim though.

Lee from 911 has recorded a deeply terrible cover of Kids in America with clunky new World Cup related lyrics a'la Atomic Kitten's Whole Again/Southgate You're The One

Keep Kim far away from this please.

She's actually posted proper Instagram stories of herself the last couple of days. I wonder if this is a new avenue for her.

Not that there's anything worthwhile to promote judging from that...
