Also this campaign is really strange. I understand we are in the midst of a pandemic but ALL the promo thus far seems to be US-centric. This week as well as the Tonight Show appearance she has been doing a run of radio interviews all for US based stations.

Yet she seems to have totally lost momentum here. That big name remix didn’t materialise and Say Something is in apparent limbo. We still don’t even have a tracklist for Disco.
 
I've noticed a lot of artists holding off releasing the tracklist for albums until near the release date, though. The release is still 6 weeks away and it's a REVEAL moment

I mean it's pretty obvious the second single is going to get a push equal to or bigger than Say Something which is why they're not spunking the few promo opps available to them right now on a song that in two weeks won't be the push single.
 
Apparently there is to be a streamed socially distanced gig at the V&A to coincide with the release - similar to the underplay shows she had for Golden.
 
I'm not sure if it was mentioned before but apparently apart from the two singles and one other song, the rest of the album was done during lockdown at home. If she did much recording last year they obviously decided to go with new stuff.
 
Is she being credited as a producer considering her new found, seemingly endlessly discussed technical software know how?

I wouldn't go as far as producer. She'll probably get a "vocals recorded by" credit no doubt and possibly even the location listed as "Kylie''s house".

She does, as ever underplay her involvement though. According to that press release from the head of BMG, it was no mean feat in the relatively short time she had to learn the software.
 
I sullied myself by reading her interview on the scum's website this week. She said they were originally joking about her getting a credit, then she thought about what she was doing and decided that she should be credited as Assistant Engineer. Our humble pop queen.

Wasn't Say Something recorded late last year? I thought the vocal production she did was on the acoustic version which was done during lockdown.

I think she recorded Magic last year too.

All the acoustic vocals were recorded on her todd though and I think pretty much all the Sky Adams tracks too.
 
When she says this album was recorded during lockdown, I kind of wonder if she just means her vocals - as in, the songs had been demoed by the songwriters or given a rough vocal by her and then lockdown happened so she finished her own vocals?

It seems a bit unlikely that the songs themselves were written over video call, produced, sent back and forth etc and a full album made all within 3-4 months... and the fact that both singles so far have existed since last year suggests the process was already in full swing.
 
So 14 of the 16 songs were written from scratch by Kylie & co and two were submitted as early demos - Magic and the one co-written by Fiona Bevan. Unusually for Kylie, she also has co-writing credit on both of them so clearly she added to them, lyrically at the very least.

Aside from SS and Magic which were both recorded last year, this could be the third song which FetchFugly refers to.
 
The Table Manners episode was great. I mean I expected some fangirling but not quite to that extent and I didn't anticipate Lennie to join in too.

Interesting that Jessie describes the album as being very "French disco" influenced.
 


something coming tomorrow - I'm thinking either TRACKLIST, details of her live album launch stream from the V&A, or maybe just behind the scenes of the Magic video.

I'm not sure this warrants a track by track title reveal. Particularly since there are no accompanying clips.
 
Monday Blues seems to be a cover of/rewrite of this song by a Korean-Chinese boy band from 2018



the writer is credited as Maegan Cottone, who also co-wrote several Disco tracks with Sky Adams, so surely not just coincidence
 
So the credits on Wikipedia were wrong? I know that's probably a stupid question but...

It's unclear right now. They did seem to be legit but sometimes final credits have co-writers added or correct earlier omissions.

But the track you mention has also been co-written by the same half of the Cutfather team that wrote Magic. However according to Wikipedia those writers do no appear elsewhere on the album.

Unless of course they've had a last minute change to the track list.
 
it could be total chance that the co-writer has another recent track called Monday Blues of course, and appears on Disco... I guess we'll find out soon
