Kylie - Disco (album 15)

Sometimes I don’t know why she bothers with interviews. It felt like she was caught completely off guard with his gushing at the start and spent the duration feeling nervous, intimidated and unable to complete her sentences.

On the plus side he was very complimentary (how could he not be) about Disco.

She has literally retold every single anecdote in that interview SEVERAL times before.

She even completely missed out the juiciest part of that Prince story - that she spent some time at Paisley Park - ok I didn’t expect her to reveal that he tried to boink her but still - don’t leave a story half untold.

That Wow anecdote has been recounted a THOUSAND times.

The interview is fine, she’s always like that. Both she and Dannii always seem to be thinking and processing what they say before getting it out. I don’t think most people would know what was in that 13 minute clip Jark posted at all. I’ve never heard the Wow anecdote.

Kylie in being guarded and professional SHOCKER!

Literally the only time we’ve seen the person behind the persona was the Michael Hutchence doc.

did she ever do a big emotional post cancer interview in Aus maybe? or was she guarded about that too?

I have not seen that before but I'll give it a watch - I'm sure it'll be worth it as she's always on good form with Molly

here's the full Apple interview video

I don't see the problem with that Zane Lowe interview honestly. She's a total sweetheart like she always is. He, on the other hand..

What the fuck are you QUEENS on about? She comes across as completely genuine and sweet in that interview, herself really. I enjoyed it! (minus the Ronaldo football reference).

I don't know what it is about sweet angel Kylie but on ANY forum her threads always have such a chaotic, discontented, dark sided energy :D

Honestly she handled him very well. Sorry but does he write music? Because if he does, fair enough, but if he doesn't then who is he to talk about the artistic process? He's just some radio DJ with some remixes under his belt, no? He needs to get over himself.

I think he revealed in his interview with Jessie (I honestly can’t abide the man normally) that he has recorded music before.

God I’m bored with all these fucking formats.

But then she does what I’ve been asking acts to do all the time and released a deluxe edition album with all the songs on. ORDERED.

(and cancelled the silly Amazon limited one that clearly wasn’t remotely that)

Yes he is a musician, writer and producer, not just a remixer.

I thought the Amazon one WAS that? Apparently it’s going to be a Black Friday exclusive.

I feel compelled to purchase the deluxe even though I don’t have a deck.

The Amazon one I had was still available when I just cancelled it 5 minutes ago.

there’s probably about TEN Amazon exclusives

I’m sticking with the turquoise LP because it’s so pretty looking!

I’m pretty sure one of them IS the deluxe edition but just not the marble exclusive that her store has been flogging.

How much vinyl do you own then?

Not much, probably just about 20 or so. I’m still in the habit of buying at least one format for an act I support and it’s equally as pointless going for a CD for me these days. At least you can appreciate the artwork on a larger scale (and be a SAD ACT like me and frame my faves!).

Seriously though - I just don’t collect music any more. I know we’ve had this discussion elsewhere on moopy but the years of amassing all those albums on CD (I’m not just referring to Kylie here) and then in what felt like the blink of a second, for them all to be rendered obsolete has just made me numb to it. I collected Kylie for years but then sold my vinyl collection when I was in my late 20s and continued a bit with CDs (where I was buying more than one version of every release) until I looked at it all and figured I didn’t need or want to do it anymore.

At the moment I feel I MUST buy ONE copy of Disco but I’m really not fussed about which format it is in because I’ll be consuming it digitally anyhow.

I don’t collect anything in the traditional sense (I’ve even stopped buying books). It’s all landfill in my eyes.
