Actually, I suppose it's less fickle in some respects - if songs are playlisted on their individual strength rather than the artists that recorded them.

What I meant was that none of this guarantees that anything else from Tension will be supported in this way.
 
Well that’s the thing - it’s like radio play in that the powers that he will playlist generic, crowd pleasing or of the moment stuff first, but a big public reaction can cause this to break the mould.

Not much can be done except let’s enjoy the fact that our Kylie has managed to do this in what is one of the most unlikely streaming supported projects.

I wasn't implying that at all - merely that she can't guarantee playlisting support on her name alone. Which is fair enough I suppose.
 
CDs is a good choice, with the playlisting kicking in by the end of the weekend she may well be competing for the top 20 as @Jark says :disco:
 
The thing that boggles the mind about being 108 on Spotify is that there are probably a handful of songs by Fleetwood Mac, Killers etc that are above her, and when you think that some gays are playing this track 35 times a day and it has started to amplify beyond the core superfans, it begs the question, WHO needs to listen to the killers in 2023 more often than THAT?
 
apparently the CDs are scheduled to ship next friday so they would count to week 3.

Most people are passive listeners and probably create a couple of playlists and just listen to their faves over and over

If the Killers are really on a few hundred official playlists, Spotify need to have a word with themselves
 
I mean to be fair I listened to Mr Brightside yesterday :D

Its on one of my Indie playlists that I just had running all day while working so barely noticed it except to think ‘I’m part of the problem’ :D

I think that's even better, isn't it? Momentum is still building so she's got a strong run still at the chart next week, then the physical will carry her into week 3.

I don't think she's had a track have 3 weeks in the top 75 since Dancing, and (as ever, excluding Higher) not had one have 3 weeks in the top 40 since All The Lovers.

Do you own the original yourself (as in the physical media)?

There is definitely a downside to music being so readily accessible....I realise that plays and points are weighted to favour new music but it doesn't help if the streaming charts are still clogged up with decades-old songs.

Like we've said MANY times before, there ought to be a difference between songs you've actively streamed (and playlists you've personally curated, as much as I still find that a bit lazy), and people bunging on any old Spotify playlist and listening to anything thrown at them.

And just fucking create a heritage chart of some sort already.
 
SANTA BABY was her last single to spend two weeks within the top 40. Let's see if she can beat that.
 
Whether you like Satan Baby or now, there's no denying that it forms part of Kylie's official chart history.

All those weird adlibs being isolated towards the end is fabulous.

The original Mr Brightside single?!

Not from memory, but it encouraged me to buy the album 19 odd years ago but I don’t know if I’ve binned it or not.

Not sure how that relates to listening to it now though? 99.99% of people that bought the single back then would likely stream it now to listen to it even if they still had it?
