Kylie - Padam Padam (1st single, May 18th) (2 Viewers)

:D at Lulu somehow shoehorning her way onto that list.

I always find "hits in X amount of decades" a bit of a pointless statement to shout about usually. You can be around for about eleven years and suddenly you're in the "hits in three decades" brigade. And when it's one-offs like fucking Lulu it makes it fairly redundant

Whereas people like Pink and Mariah miss out due to starting in 1990 and 2000.

Imagine Pink dies in 2029. Only three decades of hits? Flop career.

In Kylie's case it feels like a legitimately amazing stat though - especially achieved on her own, out of nowhere

Everything about this has been so perfect. I'm still beyond shocked - it feels like such a RARE event.

Cannot wait to purchase my Padam Padam 16th Century parchment scroll, Padam scented cotton buds and Padam Padam Paella Kit to give it a further boost :disco:

Don't quite me on this but unless I've misunderstood, on streaming alone she would be #10. Which is pretty spectacular all being said.

Her iTunes position (#1) remains pretty stable. Downloads are obviously propping the track up given that physicals have mainly been exhausted.

she's so going top 5 within a couple of weeks. I predict a #3/#4 peak in the end.

I'm going with CHART TOPPER

IN THE US

(Might as well go the whole hog... :D )

I want it to get to #1 (here) but it feels like an excuciatingly difficult task.

Leigh Anne has made it to the top 5 simply by signing 10,000 copies of a CD and selling them at 99p each. That clearly isn't a tactic that BMG are willing to consider

But they're obviously playing the long game- perhaps in a way that hasn't really been explored before. Padam Padam sitting in the top ten for five weeks will be seen as a much bigger victory than a one week and out top fiver...(presuming that is what happens with Leigh Anne).

I don't want them to pull those shitty stunt tactics. better the song gets top 5 organically.

It's this year's Running up that hill!

I just hope the album's not a huge disappointment after all this drama.

They've played a superb long game although the absence of a vinyl edition does suggest they've done so off-the-cuff. But so what - you pay your label to watch what's happening and respond, surely?
With Leigh Anne, they obviously want her to debut higher than Jesy but that could backfire if it plummets without physicals next week.

Anyway, I expect a Quadrophonic reel-to-reel edition by tomorrow.

I'll assume a remix might appear on Kylie.com on Thursday to make up the shortfall if it looks like she's going to drop.

BMG staking all of their logistics on this given that they've never been in this position before. :disco:

If they are in it for the long game, I imagine they are planning a vinyl or remix package or somesuch to release at the appropriate time to stop ACR kicking in, should we be in that position in a month or so. This is probably all being planned as we go, since I'm sure the label fully anticipated that the single may get a week at #58 and by now they would be thinking about which tracks they would be throwing out as promo singles or whatever they call them, just to keep her out there until the album drops.

#5 on Apple Music and a great move up the Hot Hits playlist on Spotify.

She always falls on a Sunday, so hopefully back into the top 30 tomorrow and with some luck into the top 20 later in the week. There’s only about 15k between #20 and her at #33 on Spotify, so no doubt with the extended streams added she isn’t far off at all.

And great start on the midweeks. Should hopefully mean it holds top ten this week by Fridays chart.

She's halfway through her 50s and she looks like THAT?

Get me some of that KYLIE WINE STAT
