Kylie - Padam Padam (1st single, May 18th) (1 Viewer)

Loving this chart run so far :disco:

Radio 1 FORCED to play it too daily from today :disco:

I did see reports of the CD and cassette singles going out of stock again earlier in the week, only to become available again yesterday evening. Are they purposely holding sales back into the new chart week?

Given it should hit the Irish top twenty later today (or very close), I do think it would be nice for the team to give a bit of a push to the rest of Europe and the US/Canada. Nothing over the top, but sending to US radio for one is a smart move and can easily get some traction (even our REET is having some minimal success there currently - her best showing worldwide for her latest single). It’s too good not to try get a bit of love outside her main three chart spots, and clearly the song itself is hugely popular on its own.

Most of the promo thus far seems to have been in the US so I’d be surprised if they aren’t doing that.

It has been sent to US radio hasn't it? I saw tweets about a station adding it,

It was added by one, and stations can technically add whenever they feel like - but in practice it’s very odd for one of the big ‘chain’ of stations to do this without an official adds date, as I imagine they go through their normal weekly playlist meetings, see what has been sent out from labels for adds that week etc and then add it to all of their stations across the network. So an official adds date is essential for most stations to be aware to add it, especially for a somewhat smaller known act (US wise). I think there is about 170 stations on the pop network, so an adds date could well see her chucked on to 40-50 in one go given how popular the song has been virally.

Ah interesting, I am confused then as why the track has not been sent out, what with all the US promo and the buzz online etc; or are they building momentum there?

Back up to #25 again today.

There'll probably be a heavier drop through Monday as the Glastonbury effect kicks in, but hopefully she'll rebound.

i hope the weekend effect sends her top 20 for the first time :disco: (current peak 21)

UNLESS SHE'S ACTUALLY AT GLASTONBURY THIS WEEKEND

It seems they are building to the Vegas residency? But seems silly not to have sent it. I’m guessing they have a plan, but momentum will be lost if it isn’t in place soon, as small as US success might be for the song.

Apparently she's never had a #7 hit in her entire career, so even if it went no further that would have been nice from a :david: perspective.

WASH YOUR FOUL MOUTH OUT.

We'll accept that for the follow up, but for THIS?

it's probably nothing, but some are thinking based on this mutual stanning that a collab with/feature verse from RAYE (if not for Padam, another single this campaign) might be in the works

would die if RAYE tossed Kylie one of the many 10/10 dance demos she no doubt has in the vault and made it a duet

Up to #13 in Ireland. So alongside the UK and Australia that’s some nice little peaks right there.
