The titles all look like they were made by a things-gay-men-might-say word generator so obviously this is going to be fab.
 
As much as I loved the first album, the second seems to have passed me by. :confused:

the second was better than the debut for me. looking forward to this.
 
I QUITE liked "Tropical Chancer" but the rest of the album flew past me as well. Not that I was a big fan of the first album anyway. There were some great remixes of her singles though.

I LOVED the Trouble In Paradise album. One of those great gay interest only flops.

I forgot how good this was. But yes, valid point well made.
 
I hope Gullible Fool is as biting a closer as the title suggests.

The last album was eight ninths magnificent, so maybe this time she just hasn't bothered with the rubbish last song and kept it all killer.
 
The mastering on that last album was terrible- I think it was Tropical Chancer which was muffled to fuck.

I liked the last album, but didn’t love it as much as I thought I probably should.
 
She kind of killed her career all by herself by complaining about girls throwing sweaty bras at her and trying to grab her boobs or whatever it was, which was a bit of a shame. It put me right off her. I presume she’s actually owning her sexualité these days? Anyway, I’ll add this to the list of sterling remixes :disco:

That HAIR hasn't dated very well has it? Is she still rocking a sapphic quiff?
 
I’m so disappointed by this single, it sounds like a demo that needs finishing.

I’m hoping it will grow as often is the case with her stuff, if not I still have faith for the album.

The first verse in particular is kind of hard work, even if the chorus steps things up. When the last album was introduced with Let Me Down Gently this can't help but feel a bit of a step down. I'm sure there will be better to come.
 
Her voice just annoys the fuck out of me. So whiny! The song is fine but sounds a bit like something Moldova would reject at Eurovision.

(stolen entirely from the popjustice La Roux thread :D ) Ely has actually acknowledged that The Feeling is shit and shouldn’t have been on TIP :D I personally don’t have it on my spotify playlist of TIP so i often forget it even exists. In her own words:

Yeah The Feeling, which is why it sounds like it isn't supposed to be on there. It's supposed to make you feel like 'why is that on there?' It's weird, we did wonder if it was the song only Ian [Sherwin, co-producer] and I would understand and clearly it is. This album is very personal, I just like to hide it but that track is actually the most revealing, honest, vulnerable song about the most personal part of my life. If you know exactly what it's about it will make you burst into tears, but I'm not going to tell people what it's about so it will always be the one that doesn't really work. It meant a lot to me. So much of what I like to do is create a fantasy land and that's not just a fantasy land, that was how I felt at 4am in the morning. I knew that if it didn't go on this album it wouldn't go on the next one. Plus part of me was slightly scared of releasing an eight-track album, but I don't know why because so many albums I love are eight-track albums. For some reason, today, it's unacceptable to release an album that's less than 22 tracks.
 
both the song and video look like a parody skit, i've decided. i don't mind it, but it's very silly. also, in one shot her awkward smile reminded me of mel c and that's all i see now.
 
I think it literally sounds like it was recorded on a Casio keyboard..!

REALLY struggling to get into this era so far, MAYBE IT WILL GROW ON ME
 
Why does this sound like a vinyl rip?

While this is nice, especially once it kicks in, I am definitely adjusting my expectations for the album based on the two songs so far.
 
well, i love gullible fool now. i've had the i won't believe in anything bit in my head for a couple of days and counting. i like that it takes its time before getting all jaunty casio george michael on me, it can totally afford to.
 
that was actually quite nice. i even managed to convince myself it has a chorus by the end.
 
Not even a single track yet I can see myself ever being fucked to listen to again. Starting to get a horrible feeling the songwriting talent was more Ben's.
 
I don't mind Automatic Driver but it is another one that sounds like it could be a discarded demo from the last album.
