I think it's just much deeper in the mix. Artpop the song they really just buried everything super deep in the mix. It bugged me at the time but I love the song so so much that I don't care now.

these versions are just a nice alternate universe "what if?"

God the Artpop middle 8 is EVERYTHING! so dreamy! truly possibly her greatest moment to me.
