I've been playing Chromatica a lot lately. this was officially voted 4th in the moopy survivor, but more and more I think it's one of her BEST SONGS. the demo-itis disappointment subsided eventually and I grew to enjoy the new production. I really think it's the best hook/chorus/vocal across the whole album. PURE JOY!



here's the demo for reference. very full on 90s house throwback. I do think the finished version has a more pop-off climax though.

It's one my Spotify throws on quite a lot and one that has definitely stood the test of time. I think I'd even choose it over Rain on Me and Stupid Love these days.

The Remix from Dawn of Chromatica absolutely slaps.

The Rina and Clarence remix blows every other version out of the water for me, but a VERY GOOD SONG however you slice it.

I stand by my belief that Chromatica was her best album since The Fame Monster. I get the sense that there's been a bit of a fan backlash towards it, but it was a pivotal lockdown album for me.

yeah I think Chromatica has stood up really well. I think because it was a pretty straightforward, non-boundary pushing pop album and not the BTW/Artpop redux people expected from her "return to pop", it got a lot of stick. not quite being up there with Future Nostalgia maybe also, and her unfortunate promo allergy.

but the songs are almost uniformly excellent and her vocals across the board are NEXT LEVEL.

I would say it was both what we wanted from Gaga at the time after a few years of catering to the masses and experimentation before that (Star is Born, the Tony Bennett stuff, Joanne...) and something really needed to get the gays through lockdown, so the timing was just perfect. I do wonder what her plans are next though. I feel like she won't continue down the pop route so soon after.

I just can't listen to ARTPOP from start to finish. The chaotic energy is too much.

Love it. It's so annoying we never got the Radio Edit on streaming, it has minor adjustments but they were so needed.

Experiencing this one live was truly magical, you could tell she genuinely enjoys performing it.

I truly don't see the appeal of Rina for me but she totally knocks it out the park on that remix though
