They've nearly reached the goal, but if Lady Red hadn't been a minor drag celebrity with a host of famous drag queen friends able to share the gofundme link I think her family would basically be ruined by medical bills.

Isn't there a saying in America "the worst thing you can do for a person is call an ambulance" as the call out cost alone is thousands of dollars, and if you don't have health insurance you are FUCKED.

Having lived here a few years it amazes me how many of the dumb fucks genuinely believe they live in the best country in the world (despite having never stepped foot outside of the border) with an incredible healthcare system and continue to vote for politicians that will never change this. It beggars belief. The mentality is "why should i pay higher taxes for someone else's free healthcare"
