I got the HMV one but I think I'd quite like the proper one as well now. I'm not a huge fan of the image but it suits the album title and mood more than the HMV picture..
 
Projected to do 65-75k in the US (45-55k pure sales). Lackluster but I guess we have the UK.

Also I've never bothered with the pre-BTD stuff but this is lovely and kind of sounds like the direction she's headed

I gave this a play the other day and could barely get through it once. I find I’m like that with Lana albums, Lust for Life was the same for me. I tried with it and simply couldn’t connect with any songs but NFR was great. I think I need a long break between albums.
 
1. White Dress

-Love the moody piano.
-She's really pushing her upper register and it sounds very sweet.
-Is her voice double up on the verses?
-Love how the music swells on the second chorus.
-The chorus is nice and strong melodically.
 
2. Chemtrails Over The Country Club

-What even is a chemtrail? The thing an aeroplane leaves behind?
-Lovely 6/8 timing!
-Really like the soft, laid back vibe with the DRAMA on the choruses.
-Nice singing in octaves on the chorus - her vocals sound great.
-It's got quite a frenetic energy towards the end - in a good way.
-Not sure about the drum ending.
 
3. Tulsa Jesus Freak

-The lyrics to this one are not in the HMV CD booklet for some reason.
-Her voice sounds a bit vocoder-ish in places.
-I like the beat.
-The "white hot forever" bits are good.
-Perfectly pleasant overall.
 
4. Let Me Love You Like A Woman

-This one is dated 2020 in the booklet (all the others are 2021) - is it a NFR leftover?
-It reminds me of another song of hers (yes I know most of her songs sound the same).
-Really good innit.
-Again, her voice sounds beautiful, especially on those high notes and harmonies.
 
5. Wild At Heart

-No lyrics again.
-What a pretty melody.
-Oh I love it when she changes the tempo part way through a song.
-Chorus is a bit of a let down.
-Ooh the dreamy final chorus though!
 
6. Dark But Just A Game

-Oh there are no lyrics from this point on in the booklet - stupid bitch.
-Ooh the production is a bit grittier. Darker even!
-And then there's a very soft, gentle chorus.
-It's got a slight Beatles vibe with the organ later on.
-It's OK, nothing special.
 
7. Not All Who Wander Are Lost

-I'm hearing acoustic guitar, strum strum (yawn).
-Interesting vocal arrangement on the chorus - has she ever given us rich harmonies before?
-The verses are quite stream-of-consciousness.
-"Meaned" is not a word, Lana.
-Why is there a man talking?
 
8. Yosemite

-Yay the signature Lana haunting train whistle sound!
-Oh because it's a Rick Nowels song.
-Very high vocals again.
-Like the spooky production.
-Isn't this the second track to mention "candle in the wind"? Obsessed.
-The chorus is subtle but lovely.
-Why is it called Yosemite? Is it about vaginas?
 
9. Breaking Up Slowly

-Who's Nikki Lane? Is she a famous country singer?
-Her voice contrasts nicely with Lana's.
-The song doesn't really go anywhere but it's fine.
-I was hoping for a broken heart anthem.
-Oh it's finished.
 
10. Dance Till We Die

-What a title!
-Weird time signature.
-It's got a nice warm vibe - like the horns and synths.
-Oh what's this interlude?! *wakes up*
-So this is probably the most interesting/strange song of the album.
 
11. For Free

-Written by Joni Mitchell. Never heard of it.
-I don't know Weyes Blood or Zella Day - are they popular? Nice voices.
-It's nice to do a cover I suppose.
-Some lovely harmonies again.
-It's beautifully produced.
-Nice way to close the album.
