I find it really hard to compare this record against her others. it's top 3 for sure and probably not quite up there with Lust For Life or NFR!, but it's so different as well. just exists in its own tragicomic little bubble.

Is This Happiness? sounds like it was recorded on a Tresemme bottle in somebody's bathroom in 1983, but it's very pretty. A proper HQ version would go down a treat. the chorus strings are gorgeous!

Flipside is really nice and warm and weirdly feels much more like a Lust For Life track. can easily imagine it in that album's midsection. I'd love it in proper quality.

The bonus tracks could make up a cute little EP a la Paradise, sure they're part of this project but sonically they sound incongruous with Shades of cool, Brooklyn baby or West coast.
