@Phoenix Do you like "Kiss Of The Spider Woman"? I think it's a bit of a ropey Kander & Ebb show. The Vanessa Williams Broadway version is worth seeking out if you're a fan though.

Oh it hits all the right spots for me, I love Chita Rivera. I should give the Vanessa Williams version a try but I doubt I’ll like it as much as this.

I didn’t enjoy Bertine tbh. Her back catalogue just doesn’t really fit to be just her and with a piano accompaniment. It felt as if all the joy had been sucked out of her music (IMHO obviously)

Masterpiece - total gamechanger, funkiest jazz album ever. Watched the documentary about him last night, he did not come out of it well. Amazing how forgiving people were towards him...maybe that's cos he's been dead for 29 years, they;re all getting old and their memories are fucked.



Beautiful ambient explorations...first track is a bit unnecessary, which is probably why the "featured" tracks on Bandcamp is track 3.



This is Cross Record, an eponymous album from last year - really took me by surprise this - it's certainly experimental and disconcertingly odd in places but it's very accessible, melodic and delightful across the whole. Damn good.



Fourtet - Sixteen Oceans. Chipper, upbeat electronic music from one of the masters of the form. Necessary at the moment to have something properly "feelgood" in yr speakers



The Dead C - Trouble. Same label as Sarah Davachi and Cross Record (they did a Bandcamp offer...) but, unlike those albums, an absolute racket. But the Dead C are the crown kings of the Absolute Racket and no-one does it like them. Legends.

it's only an ep but i think it's really strong after not caring about the second album.
not a bad track on it and i really love je disparais dans tes bras, la vita nuova and people i've been sad.
 
I shall give it a listen. I really didn't care for Chris and I know that it was Moopy hit but it just didn't do much for me.

it didn't do it at all for me for some reason. the new one on the other hand is great even if she's is a bit much for me.
 
I was gonna do this but it's just Future Nostalgia and a bunch of noisy Bandcamp stuff.
