I have my driving test in a few days!

I'd started with regular manual lessons late 2024, but switched over to auto around May last year. It's funny how some are frustrated about the 6 months wait now, whereas I've been going to lessons for over a year

one hour lessons though, as my focus goes after a bit. I didn't go for lessons during university, and I am in my 20s so kind of younger, but not straight out of school/not great at following instructions
Lesson costs are annoying of course and even car hire on test day (for about 45 mins, without an extra hour before) is £75..! I had something about the AA giving back £6 for overcharged online fees when I was doing manual, but that's all the money saved.
I really hope I pass but if not I'll take the test in the family car/get a new instructor. The one I'm learning in is only 6 months newer (2017) both have their strengths/weaknesses, and are big-ish. My first car will be smaller and older, yet I've only driven a small car twice

so will just have to adapt.

My auntie in Scotland got her manual licence (didn't drive before in the UK) almost 10 years ago, in her 40s; she was in an accident not long after the pass, but still drives long distances frequently. If you're dedicated and really want to get there, and can learn how to balance speed and safety, it's never too late.
