I think the consensus is that the wrong singles were chosen. If I had been in charge I would have called the album: Glassheart: Battle of Leonica and made it a concept album about a dystopian future in which Leona is the only surviving member of the human race.
Single 1: Glassheart - in the music video Leona flies a jet fighter in the sky and shoots apocalyptic foes with her laser, with a secondary plotline about being in love with a hot alien guy.
Single 2: Come Alive - continuing the narrative of the first video, Leona wanders around a downtown derelict suburb (filmed in Slough) and starts to channel energy from the different continents. In the song's final explosion, Leona metamorphosises into a rainbow bird. We see her fly away and an ellipses comes on the screen suggesting that the budget for more music videos for this particular project is not over.
Single 3: When It Hurts - this features the holograms of female singers who never made it to a second album. Leona the Rainbow Bird must navigate her way past the spooky holographic Zoe Birkett, the mighty squawk of Kele Le Roc and the intimidating glares of Lisa Scott-Lee. Christina Milian features.
Single 4: Trouble - featuring real-life found footage of Leona Lewis and Suomi her manager surrounded by legal bills and angry phonecalls from Sony Records, suggesting that the budget given was meant to be spread across ten different acts on the label and not just Glassheart: Battle of Leonica. At one point in the video, Leona goes to an ATM showing her balance as £0, just to emphasise the point.
Status: DROPPED!
Glassheart would have been a TOTAL BOMB, but it would have at least shown some MUCH NEEDED artistic growth to the public.
