I'm surprised I haven't started this before. I am a supplement WHORE.

Here's my current stack:

DAILY:

Ankhway 10-in-1 Mushroom Gummies - Ms Ron got these as they are targeted at women of an AGE for peri symptoms. I was very skeptical, but as I usually take Lions Mane I thought I'd give them a go. I have zero brain fog and no afternoon dip in energy since taking them. Believe the hype, we just got 6 bags delivered!
Vitamin D3 + K2 - A daily essential in winter, not only seems to keep lurgy at bay but has really limited my cold weather/central heating skin allergy.
Magnesium 3-in-1 - Taken for sleep/gym aches. I sleep pretty well anyway, but I feel like it does help with general sleep/stress/recovery.
Collagen - Only just got back on it this week, but used to stir a heaped spoon in my coffee once a day and my hair/skin were great. I was using marine collagen but it was a bit fishy, have gone for the BEEF version which is tasteless. Soz cows.

OCCASIONAL:

Ashwaganda - I take this until it runs out, then leave it for a bit until I feel like my gym GAINS are dropping. I don't think taking it 365 is wise, but it does seem to boost testosterone and energy if I cycle it.
NAC & ALA - Taken a week before and after festivals or big weekends where MDMA will play a part. Proper comedown killers, I've not had a bad one since stumbling across this by accident. NAC also really minimises hangovers if you take it before bed and in the morning. It's the ingredient in all these post-rave supplements people take that does the heavy lifting, but it works much better if you compound it before and after the weekend.

I did a survey on multivitamins, haha. Also the discussion yesterday was mildly interesting

Recently I heard about the Lion's Mane mushrooms supplements, though they aren't as good if you have allergies (histamine release).

I take Vitabiotics 'ultra' Magnesium tablets almost every day 🩵 that one actually helped to feel less tired (other shop brand magnesiums like Tesco or Morrisons didn't do anything for me 😅)

Also instead of iron tablets (I'm only mildly low on iron, not anaemic) these dissolvable tablets called Feroglobin Fizz (an orange drink with vitamins C, B6 and B12, iron, copper, zinc) that I have some days.

I used to take Seven Seas Cod Liver Oil for Vitamin D but the one at home is some multivitamin version in an orange capsule, which I don't like as much (and it has the added vitamins I get from other supplements). ☺️

When I was little I had some chewable Vitamin C tablets, and occasionally had the Bassetts ones.
The flavours can be nice, but I don't take chewy/gummy supplements anymore, they kind of smell off :D and the vitamins degrade faster than a capsule or tablet. 💡

At the moment only those magnesium supplements, but I've just yesterday ordered some cod liver oil supplements as there appears to be increasing evidence that it benefits high blood pressure when taken in conjunction with meds. And mine still isn't quite where it shoulf be. Plus of course at my age I should be more mindful of my joints.

I take magnesium glycinate. And melatonin if that counts.

for the gym:
Bloom Pre-Workout (Pink Lemonade flavor)
ISO1000 whey Protein - chocolate flavor
GNC Brand Monohydrated Creatine - flavorless

at night:
L-theanine gummies - blueberry flavor
Lemon Balm capsules
Nature's Bounty Magnesium Glycinate capsules - so far the best magnesium I've ever tried

For the gym:
Whey protein (PhD or MyProtein)
Creatine (Decathlon capsules)
Electrolyte drink (SIS)

For running:
Sodium bicarbonate
Ketone IQ
Gels (usually Maurten or SIS)
SIS electrolyte drink

Daily:
Vitamin D3

I don't do collagen but sometimes I drink bone broth and pretend to be Gwyneth or a Kardashian

Oh I forgot about protein. Yeah, that as well.

I was taking NMN for a while but it ran out, I might do a few months of it again soon. It's supposed to make you LIVE FOREVER.

I takes vitamin D as a blood test showed I was quite low and pumpkin seed oils which are a DHT blocker to help hair shedding.

I am tempted by magnesium though, I've heard lots about it! Also those mushroom gummies ron mentioned sound good.

I tried a men's all inclusive vitamin pill for a while last year. It looked a suppository, was big and brown. It made me feel weird.

Have taken Vitamin D for years. Magnesium is waiting at the Spa for me to collect.

Is this the cellular one that’s really well regarded?

Yeah, I started taking it a while ago, I deffos noticed a difference in my overall energy.

I felt it plateaued eventually though, so when I ran out, I didn't buy any more. Might give it another go, its been a while now.

I just take a daily multi-vitamin and mineral plus extra Vitamin D in the darker months.

Intrigued by all this mushroom shizzle especially as peri sets in, but my only real symptom so far is my periods being weird, so I don't feel any great need for anything YET

So, having found a jar of gummies in the TK Maxx clearance section yesterday and remembering our @big ron mentioning them, picked up some Ashwaganda yesterday and started this morning. Taste like absolute arse.

Anyway, I take, in the morning:

Clear "shake" comprising of: MyProtein clear protein whey, Collagen (which just about everyone has recommended to me and I haven't really noticed anything...) and Creatine (which I genuinely noticed within 48 hours of taking it)
Multivitamin
Ashwaganda

In the evening:
Magnesium glycinate (which works for me for haptic jerks, which I get falling asleep all the time)
Melatonin (which I know you're not supposed to take every day, but I do and also works)

Tempted to jump on the mushroom craze, but used Lion's Mane for a bit when I had a tin gifted to me and thought it did fuck all noticeable.

Vitamin D (because Ireland), Vitamin C and zinc when I'm sick, melatonin spray when I can't fall asleep (which happens far too often these days). That's all.

Where are you all getting your melatonin? It’s POM no?
It is in the UK, but not in several European countries, so I'd imagine it's not that hard to get hold of, if you want to source it.

Daily:
Creatine 5mg
Amino acid
Glutathione
Vitamin D and B3
Cod liver oil tablet
Micronutrient tablet
1 magnesium water
1 crushed garlic clove (I leave it 15 minutes and then swallow without chewing)
1 piece of chopped up ginger (as above)

Post gym: a tablet that has the other 5 amino acids I didn’t take in the original amino acid powder

I have also taken to screaming at the top of my lungs once a day. The beauty of this is that it could be done anywhere - perfect for when you’re on-the-go.

I use it for gym purposes, but my parents have been recommended to take it for brain health; apparently, it helps, but I'm curious to know what it helps you with.
Creatine is the only supplement that has actual real science backing - there’s an argument everyone should take it really !

My muscles looked swollen within 48 hours of taking it and I noticed a step up across the board in my weights etc.

If I’m off it for a bit, those weights drop down…I struggle.

Whether it’s all in my head, who knows, but it feels like it works for me.

I bought some creatine but keep forgetting to take it. I don't think I've ever managed more than three consecutive days. I haven't noticed anything when I have taken it, but haven't really given it a chance.

I believe you’re supposed to take it for two weeks at the recommended dose or you can whack double in for a week and it builds up to the point you’re supposed to need.

Like I said, I noticed after 48-72 hours SOMETHING.

Yes, the instructions said a 'loading period' of a week or so where you take a 1.5x dose, but I've never got close to achieving that. It may have made a difference to you sooner, but it feels unfair to me to judge it before getting to that stage at least.

I want to take creatine but it gives me a bad belly :(

I ran out of creatine and just kept forgetting to order more and I have had a noticeably worse week. My new tub arrives today and I genuinely can't wait.

Pretty much daily I take:

Creatine
Whey protein
Tribulus terrestris (supposed to help with gym recovery and testo boosts but not convinced)
Turmeric & Vitamin D all in one capsule
Organic Psyllium husk fibre supplement
Hydration electrolytes and vitamin mix

This thread has prompted me to get back on the creatine properly. Particularly as reading a little more about it, it's supposedly 'highly beneficial for adults over 55' :square:
