Lily Allen - West End Girl

She doesn’t have physicals does she? So I guess with just streaming and downloads that takes out a decent chunk of sales. But given she has the whole album in the Apple and Spotify charts I’ll assume she should managed 15k or so from streaming and a decent few downloads to maybe hit 20-25k? I’ll guess maybe #3 behind Taylor as well?

I'm not sure she'll have the streams for a 20k opening week. hopefully 15k and top 3/4 with a new peak/repeak in January when the physicals drop?

it's such an unusual way to launch an album in 2025. an easy #1 has definitely been sacrificed but I guess that wasn't the top priority

My sister, who generally only listens to music she grew up with AS A CHILD, has decided this album is great. Officially A CROSSOVER HIT.

Unfortunately I have my limits and Lily Allen is in the Ed Sheeran levels of unlistenable for me, so I can't even bring myself to be open minded about it. I really, really hate her voice.
 
It's a massively compelling album - I can't honestly say I love it musically that much (although I certainly don't dislike it), but it's so enthralling in terms of its content and as a slice of life that we never see that it's pretty much irresistible.

I’m so impressed with how well it’s doing. It’s such a personal album and I’m glad people are connecting with it
 
The whole thing remains totally involving but I'm starting to gravitate towards the midway boppy section. The songs definitely stand up on their own.

Fruityloop just ties the bow on things perfectly too.

I love that people seem to be listening to the whole thing rather than cherry picking a few tracks. That rarely happens over a full week after day 1 apart from the usual suspects like Sheeran, Taylor, Eilish etc....

Love the word of mouth and general buzz pushing the tracks up as the week goes on.

Having another run through the Albumplug this afternoon and I think Nonmonogamummy would make a great single, sounds like it could be on Radio 1 and so catchy. Beg For Me is also another standout apart from Pussy Palace, of course.

+1m again today, Madeline with more streams than West End Girl for the first time



I do think Tennis is better / more of a moment than Madeline and maybe they should've been combined in one song
 
Amazing to see with no pre-promo or any radio play. I wonder if on Friday R1 and R2 will add? and what track will be pushed. Goes with what has been recently said on here about airplay now noticeably less influential and insta/tiktok really pushing things in terms of promo. This has had great print promo this week too, which in turn transfers to online promo these days
