I was just thinking if this is a lead single, it would be compared to their last lead single, which was in 2018 was a #2. Has it changed so much since 20018? if so, educate me cos I cant keep up and the chartz are oh so confusing :D

Woman Like Me debuted at #5 and didn't reach #2 until its third week. And then had five weeks in the top 3. This clearly isn't going to open as big as that, but I wouldn't write it off yet (although I'd quite like to).

They haven't troubled the Top 20 since Woman Like Me, either.
 
They seemed to just disappear after releasing LM5 - maybe politics over the label shift?
 
It's been a very strange time. The last album seemed to come out of nowhere, with stuff all promotion then a second single thrown out with again bugger all promotion or fanfare...and now the album seems to have been ditched.

Chart-wise they are doing fine. #17 on day one and #30 on day two is still a good result, just not quite the old days of shooting right into the top 5. But you can't stay in your imperial era forever, so pretty understandable I'd say.

Depending on total sales for the week (e.g. whether it does 7k or 15k etc) will probably determine its position, but I'd say it'll be somewhere around #10.

This is what I meant. I really liked the single they released after Woman Like Me (so much I can’t remember what it’s called now :DAF:). I do much prefer the bubblegum pop sound they were rocking before with Shout Out To My Ex though.
 
#2 in midweeks. Not sure if data is missing, and I imagine it'll fall a bit (as it's now lower on all platforms), but still a solid start
 
Yeah I’d say so -it’s only on 13k after three days which I doubt the number two will only be on that. Only 500 ahead of #5 as well, so I’d assume with data added by tomorrow it’ll be lower top ten?
 
They all look pretty unrecognisable from their early days. Sure it was years ago but it’s kinda sad to see how much they have changed. Some of them more than others. And not naturally. But it’s their bodies so they can do what they like.

I don’t study them THAT closely but to me they all just look like they’re in good health.

Do they really look THAT different? Or at least significantly more so than most young women ageing from late teens and very early twenties to their mid/late twenties.

Everytime Little Mix have tried to do their passion projects like Salute and LM5 yes they are are generally superior and more adult but it's not the brand the general public looks for with them.

Theres a reason they go bright and poppy and colourful after a less successful era.

What is going on here? Everything seemed to be going exceptionally well for them up to the last album. Is it time for them to call it a day?
 
Oh I do hope not. Not varying degrees of flop solo career hell :(
 
Maybe they’re just a bit passé in the days of Billie Eilish and 12 year olds going all gothy. Perhaps some Siouxsie wigs and a cover of ‘She Sells Sanctuary’ (with Cahill remix obviously) would do the trick :disco:

To be fair to them, it's not like the public have had a chance to really get sick of them. Since Reggaeton Lento (2.5 years ago), they really haven't exactly put any effort in to their music. I think they've just wanted a break and fair enough?

Woman Like Me was the only thing they put any promo/time into and it was a big fat hit. So I'd say they are safe (if not quite as popular as 2016-2017) if they come back in 2020 with actually a bit of time and energy.
 
Why make a new album and then not promote it though? What a waste of time and money, not to mention the horrid mark it leaves on their discography.
 
Is it all related to the break with Cowell?

I wouldn't worry about any stain on their discography, really. The chart these days really doesn't work like that any more.
 
Yeah, it was down to the falling out with Cowell and the label shift. Their tour seems to have done fine so they could probably make a proper comeback although the complete failure of the Xmas song doesn't bode so well.

:D at Kala's concern. I can imagine Lisa Maxwell taking herself off Twitter to make sure she didn't say something she'd regret with similar worries.

I must say though, a video of them got played at the gym the other night and I was mezmerized/bemused by their pornorific prowess as various muscled men twerked and writhed rhythmically on all 4s during each of their individual scenes. A lot has changed since Tash n' Jen ruled the raunch roost with Ladies Night, that's for sure.
