(LIVE NOW) BLONDIE Sync Listen - Eat to the Beat & Autoamerican

She's never looked more stunning or as cool as she did in "Rapture"

I may have to revisit my Fab Five Freddy Told Me Everybody's Fly v Buckle Up Baby Feel My Speed v I'm Drinking A Soy Latte poll :disco:

On one hand yes, but then I think she looked pretty much ICONIC for about three years solid.

Are we cancelling it based on cultural appropriation. just remembered this :eyes:

The rap is quite jarring but already growing on me by song's end. And everything else is an ABSOLUTE DELIGHT.

"Faces" is strong if you're into that sort of thing. I prefer the disco, anthemic rock of the album though.

'T-Birds' feels like an evolution from the stuff Blondie did early on.

I'd forgotten how out there Blondie's lyrics are.

"Walk Like Me" is a bit reductive for them at this point, but they do this sound well. And it is frequently overlooked/ignored.

T-Birds is such a road trip movie soundtrack song.

I'm really not finding this album as all over the shop as your write-up claimed @POP! - there's sonic variation aplenty but it feels more cohesive and more of one general identity than the previous album. I'm really loving it.

Were they also on drugs throughout the making of it? It feels really focused, almost like a concept album or a soundtrack album. @Gangsta Nancy Lam is right, it's very cinematic.

Yes I supposed songs like "Rapture" combine the adventurous aspects (rap, disco, jazz, rock) all in one instead of isolating them so it feels a bit more cohesive as I re-listen. And it is sequenced much better than ETTB.

Follow Me is extremely musical theatre. It's the first song that doesn't quite fit or take me on some kind of journey. Is that the closer? HMMFFFFF

"Follow Me" is lovely and so melodic. And love the "we aren't really going to put this on the album" at the end :D

Play "Call Me" then "Suzy & Jeffrey"

Apparently on the original album you can hear one of the band say something along the lines of "you're not really gonna put this on the album are you?" about 'Follow Me' as it fades out.

I think it's LOVELY, but I can see why a ballad from a Broadway musical based on King Arthur might seem like a bit of a weird fit for the boys in the band.

Is "Call Me" their most famous song? I can't really decide if it's that, "One Way or Another", "Heart of Glass", or "The Tide is High" these days...

In the US, probably. In the UK I'd definitely say Heart Of Glass.
