Our HR department is bloody awful to be honest. They write vague policies and when anyone questions how to follow a guideline, they say “go to your line manager”. When the line manager’s line manger’s line manager questions it for clarification, they get met with “well it’s all in how you decide to interpret it”, and then they say again “speak to your line manager”, when even the director can’t give a definite answer.

THEN they don’t respond. THEN they make you jump through hoops with a million crap forms to fix a recruitment error that THEY MADE in the first place.

You also often get assigned some idiot in HR to oversee a performance review for an individual who is probably a better performing employee than said person in HR who has been assigned the case.
