Takes place between The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring, focusing on the hunt for Gollum by Gandalf and Aragorn, told from Gollum's perspective.

Andy Serkis (Gollum)
Ian McKellen (Gandalf)
Elijah Wood (Frodo)
Lee Pace (Thranduil)
Anya Taylor-Joy (Seren)
Jamie Dornan (Aragorn/Strider)
Kate Winslet (Marigol)
Leo Woodall (Halvard)

December 2027 release.

This feels like a non-winning mix of a standard studio cashgrab AND Andy Serkis wanting to revisit a lovely past chapter of his life. Can't blame either tbh but I'm not expecting greatness.

I love the OG trilogy so will happily dip my toe in the nostalgia of this (whereas I've not bothered with the Amazon series yet). And Dornan and Woodall are complete rides

It's semi interesting that they're de-aging McKellen and Wood by at least 25 years, but have recast Viggo.

The Amazon series was mostly disappointing. LotR is just not an ordinary text that you can pull off with a simple 'Hollywood treatment'.

Also random, but I grew up with one of Andy Serkis' distant cousins in New Zealand.

I love they way you’ve created a poll for a film that isn’t out for eighteen months :D

Anyway I’m looking forward to this, although I really don’t need any more ELIJAH WOOD and his acting layers consisting of his “what’s that smell” face and “I just wet myself” expression

Actually it's because @Finn will murder me in my sleep for not including one eventually.
